James (5-4) vs. Cody (7-2)
Projected Winner: Cory
Actual Winner: Cory
I'm done with the Kyler Murray experience, and I'm not sure the Bo Nix experience is any better. I am in quarterback hell. My team is falling apart because I picked good players on bad teams. Even my kicker got hurt somehow early in the game. Long gone are the days I dominated in this league. I am a poor, sad, sorry fantasy manager and league commissioner whose only joy is to mock Gary and Travis because they are the only ones worse than me at this game now. Once again, I will fight not to get regulated to the Bros Division. There is something about new league players: they start strong. Ashlyn won the Belt. Jordan finished 2nd. It looks like Cody will be a real contender in his 1st year, too.
David (7-2) vs. Justin (4-5)
Projected Winner: Justin
Actual Winner: David
My lone bright spot this week was watching my son take down Justin. If I am going to lose, I need Justin and Paul to keep losing, too. My only hope of making the Championship playoffs is that Justin and Paul have worse luck than me down the stretch. David didn't really beat Justin. Justin beat himself. The Harrison start vs. the Bears over JSN without DK was terrible. JSN will need the bye week to recover from getting all those 38 points on Justin's bench. It is usually me making horrid lineup decisions. It's nice to see even the 3x Champ making blunders that cost him a win. Justin took a hit, losing AJ Brown early with a knee injury. MHJ rises and falls with Kyler, which you do not want to rely on. Kyler can kiss my grits.
Ashlyn (2-6) vs. Jordan (6-3)
Projected Winner: Jordan
Actual Winner: Jordan
With the loss, Ashlyn is left to play spoiler for the rest of the season. It was terrible timing to face the hottest team in the League. With the win, Jordan extends his winning streak to 6 games. Justin and Tracy (RIP) have the longest winning streak in the league, at 11 games. Jordan has an excellent chance to break it. Next, he faces Linda, who probably lost Lamb (I dodged a bullet for now). Then Travis (easy win). Then, it is divisional matchups. The path is clear for him to get the prize he wants finally: the BBB Belt. He already has two Total Points Trophies. With the high score this week, he is pushing for back-to-back Total Points championships. I am conflicted. It would be nice if the BBB League Champion was actually good at fantasy football, unlike our last two winners.
Linda (5-4) vs. Paul (5-4)
Projected Winner: Linda
Actual Winner: Paul
Speaking of Linda, she takes a huge loss against Paul. The concerns over the Dionte Johnson trade hurting Flowers were greatly overblown. Flowers went out and balled, catching two touchdowns on her bench. One could understand that lineup decision, maybe. But to bench Burrow for Darnold?! It wasn't like Burrow was facing a tough defense or playing on the road. He was at home versus the reeling Raiders! Did you see the picture of DJ Moore walking off the field while the play was still in progress? Bad, bad vibes in Chicago. She takes another hit with Lamb hurting his shoulder. With the dumpster fire that is the Dallas Cowboys, who knows how long he may be out. At least she has Achane to give her hope until Tua gets knocked out again. Was Paul's team great this week. No. Waddle continues to be the most hyped underperforming WR in fantasy year after year. Always in the blue medical tent. If it wasn't for the late TD, he would have been near negative points. How do you finish a game with negative yards? In other oddities, how does Chase go for only 43 yards when Burrow throws for 5 touchdowns? This game is so weird. The win keeps Paul in the chase in the Beards division as we get closer to the divisional games.
Nick (5-4) vs. Gary (2-7)
Projected Winner: Nick
Actual Winner: Nick
Running back depth is as brutal as ever. Gary got bit when Brian Robinson was a late scratch. With Najee on bye, all he had left was Ford, who barely touched the ball. His roster is filled with sadness. Not even Mahomes best fantasy points day in ages could pull off the win. Like the Saints, PhatNick's team only has one legitimate producer. this week For both, it is Alvin Kamara. Chicago's O-line sucks which is finally catching up to Swift. JT will have better days. The Purple People eaters in Minny are legit. I don't blame Nick for benching Sutton. I would have also just in spite, but the Ravens have been a funnel for passing. Gary's season is over, but Nick is in a good position with Travis and Ashlyn giving no push.
Travis (3-6) vs. Steve (3-6)
Projected Winner: Steve
Actual Winner: Travis
Just when I think my brother is digging out of his hole, his team lays another wet turd in Week 9. It takes a lot to lose to Travis. For the second week in a row, he fails to reach 100 points. He has 3 TEs rostered and none of them scored more than 6 points. Even Fairbairn failed him. I thought my brother would swap in Brown once the news that Moss was out, but I guess he didn't get the news. The Broncos D got run over by Henry and the Ravens. Kinda scary how poorly the Ravens made the Broncos defense look. Maybe their D Coordinator should watch some of the Chiefs games vs. the Ravens to see how Spags contains him. I hope he doesn't. With Linda losing, he still has time to compete for 2nd in the Bros division. But being three games back of Linda with 5 to go will make it very unlikely.
