Week 9 Briefing

It's Week 9, and I am feeling the grind of another season. As usual, the only genuinely competitive division is the Beards Division. Even after an off week in which 3 of the 4 teams lost, the Beards Division is still outpacing the other divisions in wins with 18 vs. 16 for Bros and 14 for the Broads. Also true to form, the Beards division has scored the most points so far this year: 3,973.50 vs. 3,883.90 vs. 3,811.48.

James vs. Cory

It seems my team is constantly underperforming. The reality is I have to readjust my expectations and realize that my team is mid. I have a lot of high-end brand names that aren't returning value for money. I can't afford any more losses. This week I have to face upstart Cory whose team scored 120+ every week but one. That does not bode well for my chances. In true Halloween spirit, my team is a Jekyll and Hyde. I never know if they 135+ points or sub-100. Denver is a tough matchup for Lamar, but he has been matchup-proof this year, unlike the year I rostered him. I am death on QBs in fantasy. I thought I might get an edge at WR with Pittman but NOOOOOOO. The Colts had to bench Richardson for Flacco, so miraculously, Pittman's back will be healed. With the Jets forgetting Breece again, it looks like this will be the last week I can call Mr. Hambone Cory.

David vs. Justin

David vs. Goliath. Don't let the records fool you. David sacrificed his depth in hopes CMC would come back in full force. In the meantime, he has to trot out Roschon Johnson. Puke. Henry was kind of quiet last week, meaning he will have 20+ this week. I can see the Ravens wanting to wear down the Broncos' front line. This matchup won't be high-scoring, especially since Dobbins is wearing down. I'm sure David looked at the schedule and threw this game to screw me in my division. He's that kind of son. No mercy. It's a family trait.

Ashlyn vs. Jordan.

I hope Ashlyn enjoyed her 2nd win last week. It's back to losing this week. I need to remind her to pick up a defense this week. With BTJ banged up, she will have to be diligent in watching his status. She has a bunch of WR2s to pick from. Whether any of them will be good this week I don't know. Reed has fallen off a cliff and if Jordan Love is out, she should bench him. Her only chance is if her Hurts/Devonta stack can come through again this week. Jordan may be 2nd in the division but he has the best team. Jayden in the QB I can only wish I had on my team. Dude is a baller. Unlike the Jets, the Falcons know to get the ball to Bijan. The Cowboys D doesn't scare anyone anymore. This one won't be close.

Linda vs. Paul

What a difference three weeks makes. From the top of the division to the dumpster for Paulie. There isn't a better RB duo than Kyren and Achane now that Tua is back. Kyren has been an automatic TD machine. She currently has Sam Darnold starting over her boy Joe Burrow. That's a bold strategy. Let's see how it works out. I tried to get Lamb, but Linda was too smart to go for it. After a 40 burger last week, he is ready to roll again with no other receivers on the Cowboys for Dak to throw it to. Something has been off with Tucker's kicking this year. Not sure if he has an undisclosed injury or is spending too much time singing. Either way, he is missing way too many field goals this season. I like Linda to roll by Paul this week in a decisive win.

Nick vs. Gary

Nick plays Gary. Nick will win. Nuff said. Gary hasn't even bothered to drop Diggs who is on IR now from his lineup to pickup another player. Harris is on bye so he gets to choose from the stellar options of Singletary or Perine. You would think it would get old picking on Gary's ineptness in fantasy football, but every week his roster speaks for itself. Even if Gary played himself he would still lose.

Travis vs. Steve

Speaking of ineptness. We have Travis facing Steve who surprisingly has another strong team this season. Could he make the Championship playoffs two years in a row? Time have changed in the BBB. Long gone are the days when Steve spent 8 seasons in purgatory and one season on the Crapper/ Maybe he has finally been purified from his fantasy demons. I expect a much better game from Tyreek this week going against the Bills. Hunt keeps grinding away, but he seemed to be wearing down when I watched him last week. There's no stopping Schroeder now that Puka is back.

Projected Winners:

Cory

Justin

Jordan

Linda

Nick

Steve
