Week 8

My fellow Leaguemates, I am happy to report that the State of the League is good.

The Beards Division has 4 of the top 5 teams in the League. David had his most significant win in the League over Jordan. Congrats to David for this week's high score of 156.26 points scored. He needed every single one of them. He moves up two spots in the Total Points chase to #5 but is still 3rd in the Division. The worst record in the Beards division is the best record in the others. The cream rises to the top.

Dana had me nervous heading into MNF. Jacobs has been trash behind the Raiders' O-line, facing a tough Lions defense. After Pollard laid another dud, I was expecting the same from Jacobs. I was surprised to see him running well against the Lions, finishing with 16.80 points without a TD. Amon-Ra was ill, so I figured he would be a decoy. Nope. Unlike Mahomes, Amon-Ra balled out for 108 yards. Nice. I was lamenting not picking up McBride after seeing what he did for David, but LaPorta shined with eight catches and a TD. I didn't have much to worry about. I beat Dana by almost 40 thanks to Jimmy Garbage negating Adams with only one catch. It's nice to see the Raiders sucking. No one can respect an organization when the owner has a bowl cut.

Unfortunately for me, everyone else in the division won, too. I'm still at the top, but the Division is up for grabs. It will be fun but agonizing down the stretch, where every lineup decision and waiver wire move could make or break my chance to make the Championship playoff.

While the Beards division is excelling, the Broads division is failing. Dana and Ashlyn can't buy a win. They both lost again to fall to 1-7. While Ashlyn's team deserves the 1-7 record, Dana is this year's hard-luck loser. The schedule has been brutal. With her 7th straight loss, she is getting closer to the hall of shame. She is three games behind Linda for 2nd place. Defying all odds, Linda scored the 3rd highest points this week in a stunning win over Tracy. But she is three games behind Steve. With Dana and Ashlyn losing, Steve has almost clinched his first BBB Championship playoff. He has a six-game lead over Ashlyn and Dana with six regular-season games. With a 225-point lead in the tie-breaker, we are calling it. Steve will make his first BBB Championship playoff. It only took nine years, but he finally did it.

Tracy was unable to take advantage of Jordan's loss. He currently remains in 2nd place with the tiebreaker over Gary. In a bit of a surprise, Gary is staying competitive. He beat Ashlyn even after Mahomes had his worst game of his career. For Ashlyn, it was the wrong time for Gibbs to have his best game of the season rushing for over 150 yards and a TD. Gibbs looked dynamic. The bad news for Gary is that Montgomery will return to take away from Gibb's upside. Ashlyn may have no active QB on her roster after Stafford hurt his hand. It's such a shame. Truly.

Until next week, may the odds be ever in your favor.
