James (5-2) vs. Gary (1-6)
Projected Winner: James
Actual Winner: James
I thought I had a chance at high score, but Justin had to come from behind to snatch it away. I had hoped Kupp would return this week, but they played it safe since they have a TNF game this week. No Kupp cost me the high-score with Tank Dell and the entire Houston passing offense taking the week off. Disappointing, but 141.60 is still a good points total. The win also moves me back into 1st place in the Beards Division. There is no time to rest though with everyone in the Beards Division now have a 4-3 or better record. I just need Rodgers to keep dumping it off to Breece. I thought I might have a league winner in Dionte, but I knew it was too good to be true long-term. Dalton is still Dalton. It was fun while it lasted. As for Gary, he's a lost cause.
Linda (4-3) vs. Justin (4-3)
Projected Winner: Justin
Actual Winner: Justin
I tried to help Linda by trading her Amon-Ra for Lamb. She declined. It wouldn't have mattered since Justin beat her by 30 points. I probably should be thankful. My trades usually bite me in the butt. I just knew I didn't need Amon-Ra to beat Gary and I was hoping Linda could give another L to Justin. Nope. After two losses by Linda and three consecutive wins by Steve, the Bros division has heated up. She still has the head-to-head advantage which gives her a two game advantage at the half way mark. She gets the free square next week playing Travis while Steve's competitive gets tougher facing Jordan. As for Gary, he's a lost cause.
Nick (3-4) vs. Jordan (4-3)
Projected Winner: Nick
Actual Winner: Jordan
The bigger the rise, the greater the fall. A week after winning high score for the week, Nick finishes with the Poopsie. I thought JT would play this week, but he wasn't ready which crippled Nick's starting RB position with Swift on bye. Rattler is horrible and is crippling the Saints offense. Not even Kamara can save the Saints. With Jordan's team floundering also, it was a missed opportunity. With Sutton turning into nutton, it hurts even more that Godwin is out for the season with the ankle dislocation. With so many injuries this week, the waiver wire will be active. They say Jayden's rib injury isn't serious, but you have to wonder if he does play next week, how much it will impact his running which is his greatest attribute. I was surprised Aaron Jones played and played well. I was wrong about the Akers signing. After watching the Jets let Najee run down their throats I quickly dropped them. They have a good matchup next week, but if they can't stop Najee they can't stop anybody. It's still early, but the Garret/Adams stack left a lot to be desired. As for Gary, he's a lost cause.
Cory (6-1) vs. Paul (4-3)
Projected Winner: Paul
Actual Winner: Cory
The fantasy gods are setting up the Week 9 matchup between Cory and me to be epic! This week, Cory continued to roll with a lopsided win over Paul. Lamar is having another MVP season. Saquon had his revenge game against the Giants. Everyone wants to make Richardson a thing, but he ain't. He's no Cam Newton. The Chiefs keep winning, but it isn't because Kelce is lighting it up. It's the Kareem Hunt show for as long as he can hold up. Paul's team was always a pretender. It looks like he is finally falling back with his second loss in a row. He has a chance to stop the bleeding next week when he faces Ashlyn who can't buy a win. As for Gary, he's a lost cause.
Ashlyn (1-6) vs. Steve (3-4)
Projected Winner: Steve
Actual Winner: Steve
Ashlyn's team actually has a good points day, but alas, she still loses to fall to 1-6. The jinx powers are strong with Steve. It must come from our mother or maybe Mercury was in retrograde. Either way, his reverse jinx on Mayfield late in the fourth quarter worked with Mayfield getting two more drives in the last 4 minutes to pad his numbers in garbage time. Dicker the kicker's late FG wasn't enough to overcome it. With Cory and Nick blazing ahead in the Broads season, her season is effectively over before CMC can return before the bye week. Now, her only goal is to stay off the Crapper. After a slow start, Steve is staying alive in the Bros Division. As long as Laser Mayfield keeps throwing TDs, he has as good a chance to finish in the Top 2 of Bros as David and Linda. But Mayfield lost both Godwin for the season and Evans for who know how long with his hammy injury. It could be a rough road ahead just as Steve got rolling. As for Gary, he's a lost cause.
Travis (2-5) vs. David (5-2)
Projected Winner: David
Actual Winner: David
David used to be the laughing stock of the League, but he has a real contender this year. All that time on the road driving his Semi gives him an edge listening to all the latest news, stats, and fantasy pundits. With his third consecutive win, he moves into 1st place in the Bros Division. He shouldn't get too confident, though. His last two wins came against Ashlyn and Travis. The competition gets tougher the next two weeks as he faces Cory and Justin. Travis is giving Ashlyn and Gary competition for suckiest team this year. With DK having a knee sprain and hospitalized with pneumonia, his WRs are getting thinned out. As for Gary, he's a lost cause.
