Week 7

My fellow Leaguemates, I am happy to report that the State of the League is good.

Gary's donation, I mean League dues, was received. Ashlyn continues her journey toward the Crapper. The Total Points race tightens up after a poor performance by Steve's team. Halfway through the regular season, we see clear stratification in the League.

In the A tier, we have Steve, Jordan, and James. We are all 5-2 with 950 or more points scored. There are no flukes in this category. Steve continues to lead the Total Points, but the lead was cut in half and is now down to less than 15 points, where Jordan is looking to challenge for the Trophy. I could have easily been 7-0, but my lineup decisions have cost me. Last week, it was swapping out McLaurin for Pierce. This week, it was not swapping Moody for Hopkins. If I hope to win the Beards division again, I must make better lineup decisions.

In the B tier, we have Paul, Justin, and David. Paul misses the A tier due to a clear gap of 44 points in points between him and me. All three teams are on a three or 4-game winning streak. They are putting pressure on me in the Beards division. It's anyone's division where only the Top 2 make the Championship playoff for the chance at the Belt.

In the C tier, we have Dana, Tracy, and Gary. Even though she only has one win on the season, Dana's team has struggled with the tough schedule. She has had almost 80 points more scored against her than the rest of the League. It has led to six straight losses, halfway to Travis' record 12 consecutive losses. Tracy continues to wheel and deal. It was reported that he flipped Jefferson and Waller for Mark Andrews and Tee Higgins this morning. Jordan feels confident he will make the playoffs, so he can hold and wait for Jefferson to return for the playoff run. Gary is only in the C tier because he has Mahomes keeping his hopes alive.

In the D tier. We have Travis, Linda, and Ashlyn. Travis's team is averaging less than 100 points per game. He pulled off a miracle win this week over Steve. Dana earned the Poopsie award for lowest weekly score, but Linda wasn't far behind. The only bright spot for the three League ladies is that one will make the Championship playoffs. None are deserving, but one will make it nonetheless. We support fairness in the Beards, Bros, & Broads League, which is why the ladies play in their own division. If not, they would never get a chance at the Belt like Ashlyn last year, much to my lament. The schedule isn't going to get easier. All three ladies play me over the next three weeks. After two tough losses in a row, I need a few easy matchups before facing a brutal four-game finish vs. Steve, Justin, Paul, and David to finish the regular season.

Congrats to Paul for this week's high score of 165.18 points scored against Dana. He won by almost 90 points. It was over before it even started. Until next week, may the odds be ever in your favor.
