Hi Ho! Where did all the points go? Four teams failed to reach 100 points in the first week of byes. While we are used to Linda scoring below 100, it was unusual to see Steve and Justin fighting for the Poopsie award. This week, Steve won or lost out with a meager 70.62 points which is the lowest score of the season. I almost was perfect on the predictions. Linda had to spoil it by stunning Justin in the upset. That brings my season-long total to 23-13. It's easier to predict with two power teams emerging; Jordan and David. Some of us like me are winning via smoke and mirrors.
Kermit the Kommissioner (James) vs Oscar the Grouch (Tracy)
123.70 - 116.22
Tracy used his dumpster diving waiver wire skills to almost pull out a win when half his team was on a bye. Deon Jackson balled out in place of JT for 28 points and Mandrews continues to show why he deserves to be in the same tier as Kelce. Tracy's biggest concern was his WRs which came true. GB stunk it up which both Doubs and my Aaron Jones. I never thought I would see an Aaron Rodgers team look this bad. Both Cook and Brady got late-game TDs to give Tracy a chance, but it just wasn't enough even with Melvin Gordon taking early retirement on MNF. Since I gave away my two best players to David and dropped two other RBs that are now studs, I will have to keep scratching and clawing to find a way to rebuild. It definitely makes it more interesting.
Janice (Linda) vs Gonzo the Great (Justin)
98.40 - 85.34
In a rare win for Linda, she outscored Justin even though she failed to reach 100 points herself. Justin has an Aaron Rodgers issue at QB with few good options to turn to. It's hard to win with an RB scoring 0 and a DST scoring -1, but Linda managed to pull it off thanks to Burrow's monster 4 TD week. The Beards division sure is stinking up the League this year. Like the AFC West, it was over-hyped coming into the season. It had to be hard watching Deon "nobody" Jackson scored 28 points while JT was held out. There is trouble on the horizon for Justin as Akers is on his way out on the Rams and Robinson's Achilles is going to win out. It took 6 weeks, but my precept of never taking an RB coming off an Achilles injury is holding up to be a good precept.
Miss Piggy (Dana) vs Dr. Honeydew (Travis)
93.94 - 125.42
All it took for Najee to find the endzone was for Dana to bench him against the stout TB run defense. Thankfully I had her in her happy place up in the Smoky Mountains to distract her from her abysmal fantasy season. It doesn't look like there is any hope for her not finishing last in the Bros division this season. Travis got a much-needed win to keep some hope alive in the Beards division. Unfortunately, the hits keep coming. This week, he lost Hollywood Brown for several weeks with a foot injury. On the bright side, he should get Keenan Allen and Dak Prescot back next week. None of the Beards division teams are very strong, so Travis still has time to climb back up into contention.
Fozzy Bear (David) vs Abby (Ashlyn)
144.88 - 101.70
I turned David's team into a monster! Diggs is the #1 overall WR and Breece may soon be the #1 overall RB. Way to go, James! You idiot! Unlike the Packers, the Jets know how to use their best player in the backfield. Fournette continues to smash. Diggs isn't slowing down even with Gabe Davis getting his. Somehow, David still keeps missing a high score. It is coming. While I gave him a big boost with Diggs and Breece, he has made other nice trades and waiver-wire moves to turn this team into a championship contender. Tonyan was an excellent pickup. Ashlyn took the L. With Jordan running away with the Broads division, she is working to find a way to keep up with her uncle Steve to see if she can snipe to finish 2nd for the playoffs.
Scooter (Gary) vs Elmo (Jordan)
117.42 - 150.42
There wasn't much doubt. Jordan got a high score even with Russ Wilson as his QB. Tyreek continues to back up his claim that he can go for 100 yards no matter who is throwing him the ball. This week he went for 177 yards. All three of his RB starters delivered 18+ points each. We're not quite halfway through the season, but it looks like the Total Points trophy is going back to Jordan. He has a commanding 62-point lead over Tracy. Now that Jordan has gotten his annual wish to beat Gary, he can now focus on fulfilling his dream of a BBB Championship after coming up just short in his rookie season.
Animal (Paul) vs BoBo the Bear (Steve)
106.96 - 70.62
My brother's team imploded at the worst time. He needed a big Monday night miracle, but Herbert and Williams put up a dud versus a strong Broncos D. Kelce continues to show that studs on my team underperform, but if they are on someone else's team they dominate. Another week, another 100-yard game for the TE GOAT. Sanders continues to do what he couldn't last year. Score TDs. The Beards division is wide open this year with all of our teams having a couple of good players and a bunch of question marks. My brother is doing his best to finish just outside of the championship playoffs, again, which is going to be hard to do this year with the top 2 teams in each division making it.
BBB Survivor
Linda and Travis both picked wrong this week, so they both survive. Travis picked the Bucs who lost and Linda picked the 49ers who lost.
