Assessment:
It's better to be lucky than good.

James (4-2) vs. Linda (4-2)
Projected Winner: Linda
Actual Winner: James
My jinx powers aren't dead yet! The power comes from my inner turmoil and anxiety. Zay Flowers had nine catches at the half, so I had to put the jinx on him for the second half: result, 0 catches. My reverse jinx power was also working as I had to suffer through watching Bass kick in the Jersey wind and Breece getting tackled behind the line of scrimmage. Proclaiming pessimism for Hall resulted in an excellent 23.90 final output. I needed it all to squeak by with a 3-point victory. It wasn't all bad for Linda. With another strong points week, she moved to the lead in the Total Points race while I dropped out of the Top 5, even with the win.
Nick (3-3) vs. Justin (3-2)
Projected Winner: Justin
Actual Winner: Nick
Big Nick has a big game with the weekly high score to take down Justin. Dak pooped in his big boy pants as the Cowboys were falling apart on both sides of the ball. AJ Brown returned for Justin and had a big game, but it wasn't even close to making this matchup competitive. In fantasy, it is any given Sunday. The win moves Nick to 3-3. A .500 record could easily make the championship playoffs in the Broads Division with Ashlyn's team in disarray and Gary MIA.
Cory (5-1) vs. Jordan (3-3)
Projected Winner: Cory
Actual Winner: Jordan
FINALLY! Someone finally took down Cory. I thought Cory was going to get the Poopsie but a late XP from McPherson spared him. Cory is still almost a lock to make the championship playoffs though since all newbies to the league start on easy mode in the Broads Division. I am not sure who was wearing #22 for the Steelers but that sure didn't look like Najee. That RB actually made some players miss and showed some wiggle and burst. Who would have thought Najee had it in him. Bowers continues to be a lock and loaded TE every week. Quite impressive since the Raiders offense is horrid. It's not often a double TE lineup ends in a victory, but this week Jordan pulls off the stunner to keep pace in the Beards Division.
Steve (2-4) vs. Paul (4-2)
Projected Winner: Steve
Actual Winner: Steve
.It took a half-time hail mary to Lazard, but Steve got a huge win to keep his slim hopes alive. I won't say it is impossible to make the championship playoffs at 1-5, but the odds have to be in the single digits. This is back-to-back wins for a player who thought his season was over before it even started. If he can hang close until Puka and Tua return to help Tyreek, Steve could make a lot of noise late in the season. I am not counting him out. The Beards Division is grateful for Paul's takedown. With the rest of us struggling to find wins, we need Paul to stop getting cheap wins.
Gary (1-5) vs. Travis (2-4)
Projected Winner: Gary
Actual Winner: Travis
Another poor performance from Gary. Nothing new there. What is new is Travis winning a game to break his four game losing streak. Sorta impressive since Etienne got hurt early and finished with negative points. Mixon returned just in time or Travis would have continued his season of suck. It didn't hurt that Mason got hurt for the 49ers, so Deebo became the backup RB for the 2nd half. With Ford getting hurt, it may force the Browns to push up the timeline for Chubb to return. Even if he does, I'm not convinced he can do much the way the Browns are playing with Watson. There is a lot of competition for the Crapper this year. Gary and Travis are sure to be in the mix all season long.
David (4-2) vs. Ashlyn (1-5)
Projected Winner: David
Actual Winner: David
Once again, Ashlyn gets the Poopsie. Injuries have haunted her this season. By the time CMC comes back it is going to be too late. It's another year of the curse of the #1 pick. David went chasing for points picking up and starting Cousins. It rarely works out. Instead, Allen goes off on his bench in a get right game versus the Jets. While Cousins fell flat, Tyrone Tracy took off for over 100 total yards and a TD. London continues to emerge as a legit WR1 rest of the season. Overall, David has made good moves so far this year which is why he is 4-2 and keeping pace with Linda.
