Another week, another injury to a fantasy stud! This week, it is Nico Collins who went from day-to-day to IR. That escalated quickly. Maybe the fantasy gods are trying to even the playing field after Cory started 5-0. We shall see if Jordan can finally knock the noob from his undefeated season. Cory is scared to talk smack. He talked big after the draft. Guess he doesn't want to jinx himself. Leave that up to me. In true farmer fashion, Steve is poor mouthing his team even after making some great waiver wire moves to win his first game last week. He's probably right and he is doomed for the Crapper bowl, but I just don't like it when players aren't having fun. Speaking of things I don't like as the Commissioner is managers who don't actively manage their teams! Yes, I am calling out Paul, Travis, and Gary. Step it up fellas. This has been the worst year I can remember with teams not being active. It used to just be Gary. I can only handle one Gary in the League.
James vs. Linda
Linda isn't so lucky this week with Kyren and Achane on bye. At least Achane isn't missing a game due to his concussion. But she isn't called Lucky Linda for no reason. I am sure Mr. Ochichobee will score 2 TDs this week for the Texans. Because she is starting Charbo means something will happen to Walker because I can't have nice things in fantasy. I should be in a smash spot, but everytime it looks like I should win easily my opponent's WR has the best game of his career. Burrow just dropped 44 points last week and he can easily do it again versus the Giants D. All it will take for Linda to win is for Kyler to take another dump and Burrow to blow up again. I can definitely see that happening. It is why she is called Lucky Linda.
Nick vs. Justin
Carr is out for weeks. What affect will that have on Kamara? I think the Rattlesnack will lean on his stud running back. It may be a PPR scam, but Kamara should get plenty of dump offs. Love is burning it up. Swift has emerged as an unlikely RB1. McLaurin finally becomes a stud the one year I don't draft him. Steelers versus AOC should be a bloodbath. Nick's team is very strong with good matchups top-to-bottom. The issue is Justin has King Henry versus the Commanders run D. Hurricane Henry is about to blow through the defense. 200 yards is very possible. Justin is a dawg, but these are the games he usually wins. Logic says Nick should win, but my gut says Justin will because I dared taunt the fantasy gods by questioning keeping Henry over Achane.
Cory vs. Jordan
Davante continues to wait for his eventual trade. In the meantime, Jordan will have to find another WR to start since every team MUST have a complete lineup every week. Currently, he has no available WR on his bench with JJ, Worthy, and Wittington on bye. Not very good roster management. At least Wittington is an easy drop for a fill-in since Kupp will be back after the bye. With Jones injured and on bye this week, Jordan could be in for a rough stretch. Therefore, it looks like Cory will move to 6-0. F my life.
Steve vs. Paul
What a dichotomy. For those educated in Kansas, that means a contrast between two things that are or are represented as being opposed or entirely different. Steve is actively trying to overcome early injuries to his studs, but sits at 1-4 versus Paul who doesn't even start an active QB last week but still wins and is 4-1. Fantasy isn't fair. With the Chiefs on bye, Travis won't have the reborn Kelce. Kraft owns the Packers TE points, so Musgrave will most likely be a zero. With three players with Q designation, Paul will need to pay attention this weekend or at least submit his emergency players before he goes chasing tail again. Steve should get Nabirs back which is a boon to his chances. Chase Brown is emerging and Moss is dinged up. I like Steve to take this matchup to balance out the early unfairness. Steve just needs to keep it close in his division until Nacua and Pachecho return in the 2nd half of the season. It won't be easy, but with a little luck anything is possible. Linda made the championship playoffs with a losing record last year and won the Belt.
Gary vs. Travis
This year's dumb and dumber matchup. Neither team is projected to break 100 points. Trying to pick a winner here is like trying to decide whether you would rather have gonorrhea or chlamydia. Both suck, just ask Cory...kidding. It really comes down to whether Mixon plays this week. No Mixon. No chance for Travis. It would be odd for Mixon not to play this week since the team decided not to place him on IR. However, he still isn't practicing. I will assume he doesn't play this week which will give Gary the edge.
David vs. Ashlyn
Ashlyn is in a hole at 1-4. If CMC returns, it will probably. be too late to save her season. With Carr out it kills Olave's value. He was already underperforming. Bigsby was great last week, but was it a one week wonder or more sustainable? Hard to know. David is going with the hot hand starting Cousins over Allen. The matchups say he is making the right choice. David will probably get another 20 from his weekly streaming DST. Texans facing Maye in his first start. Juicy as long as they can contain him. Tracy is emerging for the Giants. Kraft is money. I think it will be another tough loss for Ashlyn. With Cory on fire, she will need Nick to lose to not fall too far behind 2nd place. Rumour has it that CMC is on the trading block.
Projected Winners:
Linda
Justin
Cory Steve
Gary
David
