My fellow Leaguemates, I am happy to report that the State of the League is good, even if I lost this week to a brutal last-minute interception by Herbert. The oblong spheroid doesn't always bounce your way. Injuries have taken their toll, forcing me to be more active on the trade market to fill the holes in my starting lineup. Between a poor lineup decision swapping out McLaurin for Damien Pierce or choosing to trade for Herbert over Tua and trading away Walker instead of Jacobs, the mistakes were too many to overcome. The good news is I am still leading the Beards division. The bad news is the rest of the Beards division keeps winning.
We are nearing the halfway point of the regular season. The Beards division once again is showing its dominance over the league with a combined 16 wins. The Bros has 11 combined wins. As usual, the Broads bring up the rear with only nine wins combined. The Beards has 4 of the Top 6 total points scorers, but Steve from the Broads continues to separate himself from the League with 898.46 points, followed by Jordan in the Bros division at 832.58. They are both cruising to the playoffs.
In the Beards division, things are tightening up after my tough loss to Tracy. Tracy has scored only 676.54 points (5th worst) but has four wins. He should be 2-4. The schedule has been kind to him. It has not been kind to Dana, who is struggling to find a win. She is 6th in points but has only one win to show for it. Ashlyn's team can't score or win. It's harder to win when you don't have a four-time Total Points Champion helping you.
Injuries have devastated many teams in our League. Things will only get worse as the bye-pocolpyse is upon us in Week 7. With six teams on bye, I hope you planned ahead to ensure you have enough active players to fill your starting lineup. If not, you must look for trade partners to fill the gap or scour the waiver wire to find bye-week replacements.
Whether injuries, poor draft picks, or poor waiver wire management, there is a lot of competition for the Crapper this year. All three ladies of the League are struggling. Linda finally managed to pull an upset over Jordan this week to earn her 2nd win and move into 2nd place in the Broads division. Travis, Dana, and Ashlyn are still stuck at one win. Once again, Travis' team is averaging less than 100 ppg in PPR, which is a genuinely abysmal number. He is last in coaching having left over 200 points on his bench. It's hard to stay consistently good like your Commissioner.
Until next week, may the odds be ever in your favor.
