Week 5 Post-Game Update

Hi Ho! Losing always blows. Worse is when you do it to yourself. I think I've gotten through all five stages of grieving for my fantasy season this year. Denial, did I really drop Stevenson and Njoku for Kahlil and Browns DST? Did I really trade Breece and Diggs to David for a timeshare Aaron Jones and injured Dotson? Anger, how could I make such stupid moves? When will I learn to just leave things alone? Bargaining, please Packers start using Jones more. Maybe it was just an off week for Pittman and Kirk. Depression, why do I do this to myself every year? This isn't worth the time. Acceptance, it's just a game. The purpose of the League is to entertain everyone. So, here I am writing another write-up knowing my chances for the Belt and Trophy are over due to my own stupidity. Only one thing left to do...make sure Dana doesn't end up on the Crapper or I am dead. This week I was 4-2 on predictions due to a couple of easy matchups bringing my season-long predictions to 18-12.

Kermit the Kommissioner (James) vs Fozzy Bear (David)

101.78 - 156.40

As predicted, I got my butt handed to me. I could have made it closer and had a decent points day if only I had the courage to keep Taysom as my TE. Oops. I'm happy for David that now he finally has a contender. Things should get even better for him once DHop returns for Murray. The normal narratives aren't holding this season, so maybe this is the year Kyler actually does better in the second half than the first. We shall see.

Animal (Paul) vs Janice (Linda)

142.06 - 85.78

No surprises here. The best team in the Beards division crushed the worst team in the Broads division. Give me time, Linda. A couple more moves and I will be right there with you. Things could get tougher for Paul in the coming weeks with Conner injured and Gibson getting relegated to special teams. He does have Eno for what it's worth. As long as Kelce can stay healthy, he will go boom, boom, boom, boom for Paul. If I had him, he would be on IR already. I didn't want to jinx Zeus. The Chiefs need another Super Bowl ring.

BoBo the Bear (Steve) vs Miss Piggy (Dana)

148.72 - 82.88

Danger! Danger! Dana! Linda narrowly escaped another Poopsie award only because Dana got snookered by Tee Higgins. He tried to tough it out, but he was a lame duck and gave her a goose egg. Dana is about as mad at her fantasy team as Davante was after the Chiefs won on MNF. After shoving the photographer to the ground after the game, she will most likely be without Adams for at least an extra game after the bye. Yikes. On the opposite side, it looks like my brother finally has a contender to get him out of the Broads division.

Elmo (Jordan) vs Dr. Honeydew (Travis)

147.46 - 119.62

With half his team injured, it was no surprise Travis took another L in Week 5. Not even Kupp can carry this team to a win. Jordan is back to challenge for the Belt this year after sitting on the Crapper. His Power 3 RBs make him a favorite, but QB is the fly in the ointment. I am sure Jordan will look for a trading partner to upgrade. Supposedly, Russ is hurt. I think he just sucks. Go Chiefs! Nice to see Njoku and Stevenson doing well since I dropped them.

Gonzo the Great (Justin) vs Scooter (Gary)

135.68 - 128.38

This indeed was a good matchup. Unfortunately, my prediction did not come through even with a big game from Mahomes. JuJu is PooPoo. Jordan lost Waller. Let's see if he has more balls than me to go grab Taysom. With the Beards division weakened by my ineptitude, Justin has a good chance to finish top 2 for another run at The Belt.

Abby (Ashlyn) vs Oscar the Grouch (Tracy)

123.56 - 157.24

Another prediction I got wrong. I jinxed my own daughter. Bad dad. In another bad dad move, I forgot to mention to her that Montgomery was active. It wouldn't have mattered. Tracy's team got high score thanks to Jacobs getting all the touches for the Raiders. He is even getting some receptions. Weird season, indeed. Tracy's reach on Pierce isn't looking like a reach anymore. As much as I hate it, Tracy looks to be another top contender for The Belt in 2022.

BBB Survivor

Linda and Travis both advanced with the Bills.
