WEEK 3 DEBRIEFING

Overview

If 2020 hasn't been bad enough already, now it is looking like Travis and Paul have two of the strongest teams in the League. What the hell is going on out here?! This is not how the order of our fantasy league goes. Paul and Travis are supposed to suck and I am supposed to dominate, as usual. Not in 2020. What's next? Is an asteroid going to strike next? Please, put me out of my misery.

Matchups

Dark Lord Commissioner (114.40) vs Check Out My Lightsaber (186.20)

So this is how my brother has felt every year playing fantasy football. Man, how do you do it every year bro? Just when I thought I was going to get my players coming back, Godwin is back on the injury list with a bad hammy now. My RBs can barely get any touches and now my wide receivers are getting down to waiver wire fodder. Next week I face Josh Allen who single handedly could outscore my team.

Paul almost had 2 high scores in the first 3 weeks, but Mahomes spoiled it on MNF. While injuries are devastating the rest of us, they work in his favor of Paul with Goedert now out with a bad ankle. As long as Russ keep's cooking, Paul's team will keep posting insane weekly numbers. It's sickening.

Its On Like Donkey Kong (127.60) vs Check Out My Lightsaber (120.78)

Tracy got to face Justin while he was without his stud RB. Even then he was sweating it out on Monday night. I was really hoping that DK getting the ball knocked out at the 2 yard line because he was showboating would cost Tracy the win this week just so it would eat at him all week. A win is a win.

There will be better days for Justin. Two tough loses to inferior teams isn't good, but the season will bring balance to the schedule.

Mother Tucker (91.18) vs Roodiculous (133.72)

The new Poopsie Award is quickly becoming a family tradition. This week Dana earns the prize with the only score under 100 this week. Joshua Kelley got the Tom Coughlin treatment after losing a fumble. Dionte got knocked out early with a concussion. Cook left with a bad ankle. To top it off, her beloved Steeler Defense played like puke. Good luck figuring out that TB backfield.

What a difference a QB makes! Ekeler was looking like a bust under Tyrod, but now looks like a stud again with the rookie. Ol' Rooster should stay competitive as long as Zach Moss is away and Singletary gets all the touches he wants.

The matchups won't always be as easy as Dana, though. At least until he plays David and me. Gary just needs to say some prayers the injury monster doesn't visit him because his bench is pretty shallow.

Hays Blaze (169.52) vs Rolling Dunder (119.74)

Rodgers throws for almost 300 and 3 TDs and yet My Vagina Stinks (MVS) gets 1 catch for 5 yards. I'm not bitter. If there is one position you can be an old man it's the kicker position. Gostkowski ditches the socks and boots 8 FGs! Exhibit A for David wanting to remove kickers from the League rosters. I am sure after this week, Krug would support that referendum. To add insult to injury, the Colts Defense matchup against the JV Jets ended as expected with the Colts posting 30pts. Getting 55 pts in a single game from your Kicker and DST it's crazy stupid. Now with Godwin out, Evans can feast again instead of just catching 1 yard passes for TDs.

Brighter weeks are ahead for Rolling Dunder. He faces me next week where Conner will post 40 points just to rub it in my face that I didn't keep him. 2020 will be the only season where Conner will play all 16 games. It's that kind of year. I am just praying Michael Thomas needs more time to heal up.

EW Black (137.64) vs Underestim8ed (179.94)

Nice points week for Linda. She continues to be the lone undefeated team in the League. With no MT and then no Cook, all that fantasy goodness got rolled up into Kamara. Tack on a hat trick for Lockett and you have the recipe for a monster week. There is no secret to the best teams this year. If you avoided injuries so far, you have the advantage especially when your team started with two dominate RBs. It's really unfair. Boo hoo. Whose bright idea was it to have keepers for so long? Not mine.

My brother is off to another slow start. I guess he is used to it by now. With both Linda and new kid on the block Jordan having really good teams, it looks like he may never get out of the Broads division. Brighter days are ahead now that Sanders workload is picking up even if the points total has not.

Just Beat Gary (187.90) vs The Tatooine Twin Suns (118.48)

Gary, when we said we needed to fill the spot vacated by The Team That Shall Not Be Named it was supposed to be filled with a noob. You brought in a ringer. Just Beat Gary? It looks like you will beat most of us this year!

The Broads division has quickly turned into a division to rival the Beards division this year. Gary posted the high score this week thanks to his KC Chiefs dynamic duo of Mahomes and Hill. It didn't hurt that Mike Davis fell in his lap on waivers this week at the #2 spot. We really need to switch to a FAAB system for waivers, so everyone has a chance to pickup a player and it not be based on where you happen to be on the priority list.

David is on his way to seeing if he can break his 0-7 start in fantasy football futility. He has the worst luck between injuries and matchups. At least this year, it's a family affair. All three of us are vying for the Crapper with our low scores.
