Week 3

My fellow Leaguemates, I am pleased to report that the State of the League remains good. Your beloved Commissioner remains undefeated, along with Jordan and Steve. There is clear stratification in the strength of the teams through 3 weeks. This is the best start for Steve since 2016 when he went 5-0 to start the season but still failed to make the Championship playoffs. Only four teams made it back then, so his odds are greatly improved, with half the league now making it.

Steve continues to dominate the total points race with another high score. That's two high scores and a 2nd place finish in the first three weeks. At his current pace, he may challenge my season-long points record of 155.98 ppg. He is on pace averaging 157.3 ppg. His starter must stay healthy because his current bench players are suspect, except for Goff. As long as Fields remains trash, he tanks DJ's upside. The entire Jets offense is trash. Hunt is old and busted now. Justice is a question mark if he can get healthy. Toney is trash, too.

It felt good to give Justin another loss to keep him winless. We'll see if he can dig himself out of the early hole. It's not good with Henry looking like he has finally fallen off the RB cliff. Justin's saving grace may be Achane if he has the balls to start him. The Dolphins won't score 70 points every week, but the Wizard McDaniel has cast a spell over opponents' defenses. Speed kills, and the Dolphins have speed everywhere!

It was a tragic loss for Dana after posting the 2nd most points. Losing is never fun. She was not in a very festive mood after the last-minute loss to Steve. She entered the game with little hope. Just when she thought she had a miraculous win, Nacua got a 30+ yard catch when the Rams decided to play man coverage on one play on the final drive. I saw it. Stafford saw it. Game over. We all empathize with her that getting a loss after you have two players post 40+ points and scoring the 2nd highest points is disheartening. She should keep her hopes up since her team is performing. She is 3rd in points, but she has only one win to show for it. Matchups tend to even out as the season unfolds. It's not like there is much competition behind her. Both Linda and Ashlyn are struggling to score points. Both battled for the Poopsie Award in Week 3, with Linda emerging as the winner.

Jordan's early morning waiver wire moves are keeping him on top. He may have gotten a boost with the Mike Williams injury. If Big Mike is out for the season, then Quentin Johnson becomes a nice depth piece at WR for the rest of the season. The tipping point for Jordan may be whether Taylor decides to play this year. If Taylor chooses to sit out, Moss is primed to be a League winner. If Taylor does return, Moss will be useless, and he is praying Pacheco can dominate the Chiefs backfield. Jordan will have tough lineup decisions at WR when Dionte returns after IR. Thomas, Higgins, Dionte, Wilson, and Quentin are all in the WR3 with a WR2 upside bucket if they get a TD.

The Balcony Boys are having a rough start in 2023. I already mentioned Justin's 0-3 start. Travis joins him as the only two winless teams in the league this year. Gary is 1-2 after also falling victim to a last-minute loss when Atwell scored the TD. As long as Ekeler is out, his team will flounder.

If Tracy hasn't figured out Kelley is garbage, then we have evidence the carbon monoxide poisoning has given him brain damage. I'm not sure how you sit Conner. He is one of the few bell cows in the league.

It looked like my script for this season was unfolding as planned, but Linda's team folded allowing Ashlyn to get a cheap win only scoring 91.34 points. Once again, Linda is a strong contender for the Crapper. It's an annual tradition, but she always seems to find a way to avoid it each season. If one of the ladies has to sit on the Crapper, I promise I will add a nice pink fluffy toilet seat to the Crapper. The odds are in Ashlyn and Linda's favor through 3 weeks.

After three weeks, it's looking like there are clear division leaders while the rest of the division members are fighting for 2nd place and a chance at the Belt. Things change quickly in fantasy so keep searching for some waiver wire wonders or trades to improve your teams. As always, may the odds be ever in your favor.
