Assessment:

Fantasy football is a battle of attrition.

James (2-0) vs. Jordan (0-2)

Projected Winner: James

Actual Winner: James

I may have won the battle, but I am slowly losing the war with all these injuries. Last week, it was KW3. This week, Kupp is placed on IR, and Spears has an ankle issue. It could be worse. I could be 0-2 and staring at the first-ever Crapper repeat. I was already struggling to find a decent flex to play. Now I have to figure out a WR2 and a flex. Not good, Bob. What is good is seeing Pee Pee Perez 0 and 2.

Justin (1-1) vs. Paul (1-1)

Projected Winner: Justin

Actual Winner: Justin

This was a Grade A butt whooping. Justin just wishes he had MHJ's 30 points last week. He can't complain about the schedule cause I would have beat him this week, too. This is the year of the RBs, and Justin's three-headed monster of Henry, Conner, and JK Dobbins is scary. Bright days are ahead for the Champ, Champ, Champ. As for Paul, he can take consolation in knowing he will face my depleted team next week. We always relish our yearly matchups, but my team is limping this year, so Paul has a chance.

Linda (2-0) vs. Steve (0-2)

Projected Winner: Steve

Actual Winner: Linda

Steve is just snake-bit. First, he loses Nacua. Then he follows Nacua by blowing his knee out stepping off a boat. Then he loses Tua in the early game. Then he loses Pacheco in the afternoon game. It's going to be a long season for Mr. Baldy.

Linda, however, hit the jackpot this week with a high score. I thought I had a chance, but then the Cowgirls were on their period this week and got hammered by the Saints. Then, I still thought I could sneak another one, but Kupp left the game and didn't return. Even after all that, I still got the third-highest points. I better enjoy the points lead while it lasts. With Tua's injury, Miami road Achane into the ground. We will see how well he can hold up. Her team performed top-to-bottom and had a dominating day.

As for Steve, he can only hope Puka and Pacheco can return to keep him off the Crapper.

David (2-0) vs. Gary (0-2)

Projected Winner: David

Actual Winner: David

After TNF, I thought David was in trouble when Allen had a poor fantasy performance, but then I remembered he was playing Gary...Mr. Free Square. With AJ Brown out, it was smooth sailing for Devonta Smith to lead the way with 20 points. Unfortunately, it will take an injury to Tank or Diggs for one of them to emerge as the clear #2 in Houston. They are fighting for scraps after Nico. Mahomes will have to step it up now that Pacheco is on IR. Gary always asks why I picked him. Look at your team, Gary. Look at your team.

Travis (1-1) vs. Nick (1-1)

Projected Winner: Travis

Actual Winner: Nick

Travis' team is consistent—130 points in back-to-back weeks. Unfortunately for him, he ran into Kamaze Kamara and his four touchdowns. PhatNick might want to change his team name. LaPorta is playing like LaPorta Potty. Maybe 'Living La ViLaPorta' would bring more points? Nick might have gotten a high score if JT wasn't held out in the 4th quarter. Why? Who knows.

Cory (2-0) vs. Ashlyn (0-2)

Projected Winner: Cory

Actual Winner: Cory

Ashlyn was flirting with Travis' record-low weekly score this week. She's another victim of the early injury plaque, and it won't get any easier for her as long as CMC is on IR. On the bright side, she can get good value by re-wearing her princess costume next season.

Cory is 2 and 0 but hasn't faced any competition yet. Winning in the Broads division is like winning a 100-yard dash against a group of quadriplegics.
