Week 2

My fellow Leaguemates, I am pleased to report that the State of the League remains good. Gary continues to suffer from his poor draft selections earning the Poopsie award for lowest score in Week 2. Ashlyn is suffering from the sophomore slump with another tough loss. But most importantly, your Commissioner crushed Paul to move to 2-0. Victory is sweet.

Week 2 made up for the lack of scoring in Week 1. It was a feast of points in Week 2, with only 1 team failing to post 100 or more points (Gary). Five teams posted over 140 points!

Many missteps lead up to the games. Dana's blunder of not setting her waiver priority properly cost her a win and a valuable breakout WR in Nacua. His 20 targets leading to 31 points boosted Steve to an easy win over Ashlyn, while Zay Jones gave Dana a 0, which crushed her hopes of going 2-0. Steve may have gotten the break he needed to finally make the Championship playoffs and end his 8-year drought by getting Puka, but the fantasy gods said they must have balance, so they took away Chubb with a brutal knee injury. His team is good with some depth, which is unusual. He will have to rely on Brian Robinson, who has been a workhorse this season. I ridiculed his 5th-round pick of Cousins mainly because his ADP was in the double-digit rounds. Well, the draft is over. It doesn't matter where you picked a player as long as they produce, and Cousins produced with a massive 4 TD game for 37.58 points. Somehow, Mostert remains healthy after two games and continues to be a stud with two rushing TDs.

Dana wasn't the only player who whiffed on the waiver wire. Jordan picked up Moss at 1:40 a.m. as an FA, proving he never sleeps. I love fantasy football and winning championships, but I'm not committed enough to stay up to 2 a.m. to pick up a player. We all had the opportunity to pick up Moss but failed. The biggest failure was on my part since I have JT on IR. Moss should have jumped off the page as the lead back in Indy until if or when JT returns. Poor play by your Commissioner. The big waiver wire winners this year are Steve and Jordan, helping them move toward the favorite to win the Belt. It's a long season, so we will see how it plays out.

Paul took another beating by me. He lost Montgomery for a few weeks with a thigh bruise to add salt to the womb. Luckily for him, he has the #1 waiver priority, so he can just grab Ford, who will be the #1 RB for the Browns for the rest of the season. It's better to be lucky than good, they say. I also took some shots to my lineup in the form of concussions. I may have challenged for a high score if Richardson would just learn to avoid unnecessary hits. He got concussed after 1 quarter, but at least I got 17 points before he left. Waddle also got concussed, so I may be without Waddle and Richardson in Week 3 to face the 3 time BBB champion. Not good since Fields has forgotten he can run the ball!

Our reigning champ suffered another tough loss. Through two weeks, her opponents are averaging 151.60 points per game. Hard to win when the other team goes off. Things should turn around as long as her team keeps scoring. She is Top 5 in Points For.

The Tucker family has been scoring well, with all four of the family in the Top 6, but only 4 wins to show for it across the four teams. At least I'm 2-0 and on top of the Beards division, where I belong. Jordan is also 2-0 but he hasn't had much competition so far with his opponents scoring the fewest points so far.

It's a long season and we are only two weeks in. There's a lot of uncertainty in fantasy football. Keep planning, keep digging, but most of all...keep having fun even if you are Travis or Justin both at 0-2 and bottom 4 in points.
