Week 16 Post-Game Update

Hi Ho! Oh no! Jordan's juggernauts just got eliminated from the Championship playoff. In an upset for the ages, the Rookie's Cinderella season continues to the Finals. What a run for Ashlyn! It was a wild and crazy week, with weather and injuries suppressing fantasy scores. Lineup choices went wrong. Waiver pickups were missed. Everything that could go wrong for Jordan did. The result was his worst weekly fantasy points output of the season. Who knew Matt Gay was the kicker to get booting 19 points which would have given him the win by 1 point? Who knew Sorenson would crush Hopkins so severely? The death nail was Tua getting concussed early in the 2nd half leading to his poor play throwing three interceptions and 0 TDs. The fantasy playoffs are cruel and unpredictable. It doesn't help when you have the Voodoo King jinxing all your players. Ashlyn's waiver wire choices almost undid the Voodoo King's jinxes. She struggled between Minshew and Brady. Brady had the better-projected matchup, so she went with the matchup. That cost her much anxiety during the matchup and almost a loss. Her last-minute decision to bench the Jaguars D also bit her in the butt. Dulcich outperformed Taysom. She got lucky McKinnon scored another receiving TD, and Evans got a couple of overtime dump-offs. This game was ugly all around.

Not only did Jordan get knocked out for his chance at the Belt, but he also lost his lead in the Total Points Championship. What once looked like an insurmountable lead has now turned into a dogfight heading into the final week. The Commissioner has outscored Jordan by 132.24 points in the last two head-to-head matchups and now holds a slight lead, 2,110.98 (140.73 ppg) to Jordan's 2,106.32 (140.42 ppg). A meager 4.66 points difference. It's almost a head-to-head matchup in Week 17 to see who wins the Trophy.

The Chief's super stack was tepid. Mahomes scored 3 TDs, but none went to JuJu or Pacheco. The Chiefs aren't blowing people out, which hurts Pacheco. With Big Mike and Keenan both active, there wasn't much left for Palmer to get. The matchup might have been closer, but the Minnesota game plan targeted Hockenson all game instead of Thielen. Gary and Larry can take solace that it wasn't meant to be. Not even their most optimal lineup would have won this week. Daniel Jones gave me a solid 23 points, which was better than Deshaun would have. Henry didn't have his usual 200 yards against Houston, but he did go for 100+ and a touchdown. Pollard was solid in the passing game but barely missed a TD which went to the vulture, Zeke. JJ is a fantasy cheat code. I am getting lucky with White since Fournette is getting the majority of touches.

Somehow I've found myself in the Championship game even after trading some of my best players away to David and Ashlyn. The latter may bite me next week. I traded for Henry, looking ahead to his playoff schedule. My main goal was to make it to the Championship and try to figure it out if I got there. Now here we are. Justin Jefferson has been my MVP. MVP of the NFL, too. He should be. I'm happy to finally be back with a chance to tie Justin for the most Championships to go along with my league-leading wins and Total Points Championships. It's been a couple of miserable seasons in the doldrums as I languished in my mediocrity. Can the true king return? We shall see.
