Overview
Congrats to Steve and Justin for winning the regular season Championship in their big money Russell League. Apparently, they make a pretty good co-managers.
My bright spot of the week was winning my 3rd high score in Linda's Pick-em contest. I started slow this season, but have 3 high scores in the past 4 weeks and the most of any player through 13 weeks. I will look to continue the hot streak.
My low spot was Paul beating me for the 3rd time in a row. Ouch. I need to stop helping Paul. Paul, no more coaching for you moving forward! You are on your own.
Like Boba escaping from the Great Pit of Carkoon, my brother looks to escape the Crapper Playoff in Week 14. Dana is just 6.44 points ahead of him and Justin is within reach 12.66 points out of the bottom 4. I will post a Crapper update after each set of games this week, since it is the only thing on the line for the final week of the regular season.
LEAGUE PLAYOFF STANDINGS
Matchups
Dark Lord Commissioner (130.38) vs Check Out My Lightsaber (137.92)
As if 2020 couldn't be bad enough, I got swept by Paul for the first time in League history. I really need to stop giving advise. It is detrimental to my winning. The score was closer than it should have been thanks to the late 77 yard TD run by Aaron Jones. If only Green Bay gave their best RB the ball more!
The best type of fantasy season for Paul is the one where he doesn't have to do much. That is the case this year. His draft was solid. No major injuries. Clear lineup decisions. Not even Paul can screw it up. Looks like Paul and Tracy will face off in the 1st Round of the Championship Playoff. Go Paul! I may have to coach you one more time.
Its On Like Donkey Kong (149.94) vs The Jedi Master (98.24)
If there was any doubt who the best team in Beards is this year, Tracy put it to rest with an absolute beat down of Justin. It didn't help that Gibson went out early with a foot injury nor that Booker busted. There is just no stopping Tracy, especially when your TE gets 49pts!!! The only thing worse is facing a defense that gets 34pts! FML
Mother Tucker (91.08) vs Roodiculous (99.56)
Poor Dana. She just can't pick the right waiver wire QB each week. Trubisky wasn't as bad as her usual QB starter, but he paled in comparison to Baker and Stafford. Just goes to show matchups aren't everything. Another Poopsie Award for Dana has put her in danger of the Crapper Playoff!
Gary has no such worries. He is firmly in the Crapper Playoff. Looks like Gary and Krug will face off in the Crapper 1st Round. Gary did his best to let Dana win. He is such a gentleman. We should have all seen that the Charger Rookie QB would get eat'n alive by Belichick who feasts on Rookie QBs. The only thing that saved Gary was Dynomite JJ.
Rolling Dunder (124.14) vs Hays Blaze (128.70)
Oh so close! Krug almost pulled off the upset. It was back and forth in the final game until Cooper snagged the TD. Damnit! I was really hoping it would come down to a Week 14 win and you're in matchup with Dana. It wasn't to be. Travis' team is peaking at the right time. But will his peak be enough to beat Jordan in the 1st Round of the Championship Playoffs. We will have to wait and see.
As for Krug, his destiny awaits in the Crapper Playoff.
EW Black (118.70) vs Just Beat EW Black (125.72)
In another close matchup, my brother was edged out by the current Total Points leader to have his final hope of making the Championship Playoff dashed. My brother always seems to come up short in the leagues we play in together. Davante Adams was the difference maker. Whether my trade with Jordan was the difference, we will never know.
What really crushed my brother was the Andy Reid fake out with CEH. It burned me too in my Fantasy Footballers Megalabowl tournament. Bell's 7.5 points on the bench would have secured the victory for him. Ouch, as he would say.
Underestim8ed (130.46) vs King of the Crapper (119.80)
In a meaningless game, Linda outscores David. Not much to see here. Maybe one day, David's entire lineup will show up on the same week. This week, his WRs let him down. On the positive side, at least his defense didn't go negative.
