My fellow Leaguemates, I am here to report the League is changing. It's been a long season with many ups and downs. Unfortunately, I will not be making the BBB Championship Playoffs this season. The burden of helping less skillful players in the League was too much for me to overcome. After consultation with Dana, it has been decided that this will be her last season. Life changes have made it difficult for her to have the time or focus to manage her team. She realizes the burden this places on me to keep her off the Crapper.
With her resignation from the BBB League, two new members will join next season. We've identified two people from the Russell district who have been chosen in a special reaping. Nick and Cody will add many years of fantasy football experience and increase the BBB League's competitiveness when they join for the 2024 season.
Dana will still be attending the BBB Live Draft, where she will be the Special Assistant to the Commissioner. I want to thank Dana for her many years in the League. Her competitiveness and spirit were envied even if her fantasy acumen was lacking. The announcement is being made now so that others may know that her departure is not due to finishing last if her season ends that way. As your benevolent Commissioner, I've done what I could for her, even at the expense of my own season.
With my loss this week, the Beards division battle is narrowed to three. Paul is in 1st place in the Beards but with the fewest points. He is 1-1 vs David and beat Justin in their Week 1. Here are the Beards division scenarios: 1. If David wins and Paul loses, David finishes 2nd and Paul 3rd in the division.
2. If David wins and Paul wins, Paul finishes 1st, and David finishes 2nd in the division.
3. If David loses, Paul and Justin finish 1st and 2nd based on the winner of their matchup.
While my team has stumbled and fallen, David still has to get past me to earn his chance at the BBB Belt. I am in the unenviable position of fighting off relegation. In the nine seasons of the BBB League, I have never been relegated out of the Beards division. I don't plan on being relegated next year, either. I know David relishes the chance to do it.
With Justin's team on fire and Paul's stumbling, scenario #1 is the most likely outcome next week. Even after cannibalizing my team to help Ashlyn and Dana when they wallowed with one win, I still think I can overcome my poor trades and end David's dreams of making the Championship playoffs. It would be a shame since this has been David's best season in the BBB League. It was a brutal year in the Beards division where all four teams deserved a chance for the Belt, but only two will have the chance.
In the Bros division, both Jordan and Tracy clinched their playoff spots. I will be playing in the BBB Championship playoffs vicariously through Tracy. Not the way I wanted to, but how it has turned out. Ironically, I took over Tracy's mantel of blowing up my team with trades. After tying Travis for the worst weekly score in League history (54 points), Gary and Travis will meet in a meaningless game before the Crapper playoff.
In the Broads division, Linda keeps her hopes alive for another week. She has a one-game lead over Dana and Ashlyn. Three ladies enter, but only one can emerge to finish 2nd. Linda lost to Dana in both matchups, so Dana has the head-to-head tiebreaker. Linda beat Ashlyn both times this year, so Ashlyn has been eliminated from making the BBB Championship playoffs. Dana is in a must-win position. Linda has a tough matchup against the Broads division winner next week. The scenarios are simple. Dana must win and Linda must lose for Dana to finish 2nd.
Seeding is based on Total Points. Top two seeds get a Week 15 bye. Jordan leaps into 1st place in Total Points with 1,820.20.
Jordan - 1,820.20
Justin - 1,788.20 (-30)
Steve - 1,784.96 (-35.24)
All three teams are scoring well, so any of the three could earn the bye.
I know you stand with me, with us, with all of us in our desire for Justin to miss the BBB Championship playoffs. Three BBB Belts are enough. So join me in wishing Paul the best of luck beating Justin this week. As for David, there will be no mercy, even if I don't want to see Justin make the BBB Championship playoffs.
Until next week, may the odds be ever in your favor.
