Week 12 Post-Game Update

Hi Ho! I'm finally back on top of the Beards division. Let's go! I had the jinx on Steve, but he did a good job with the reverse jinx, and I didn't help during on texts during the Eagles/Packers game.

Steve: This qb sneak should put em away

James: It's been lively watching the game with Ashlyn.

James: That should do it

Steve: She can relax now. Way more scoring than expected in this game

James: She is happy

Steve: I'm sure, not me but only subpar team I have. Back to just staying out of crapper

Sorry, Ashlyn. Your loss by less than 1 point is totally on me. I will make it up to you by taking you to the Bengals/Chiefs game in Cincinnati on Sunday.

My brother made some bold claims stating his BBB team was his only subpar team. Of course, his other league is with kids who auto-draft, and the other Russell league he is in is co-managed by our 3x Champion (Justin). 'Nough said.

With two weeks left to go in the regular season, there is a lot still to be determined. While Jordan and I have clinched our divisions and Championship playoff ticket, the rest are left to be decided.

In the Beards division, Justin missed out on the opportunity to clinch his ticket with the loss to Paul. Paul won both matchups so he has the tie-breaker, but Justin still has the 1 game lead. Paul will need to root for me to beat Justin next week while he hopes to take down Travis for the 2nd time this year.

The Bros division is still a 3 team race, with Dana pulling up the rear. She has won 4 straight, but it is too little too late. She hasn't been able to catch up fast enough on points, either, so it is looking likely she will be in the Crapper playoff. David has the early tie-break against Gary. David lost both matchups with Tracy, so he has to maintain his one-game lead. Gary has the early win against Tracy and a sizeable points lead, so Tracy will need to win out, and Gary loses out for Tracy to move ahead of him in the standings. David is in a precarious position, with the momentum going against him.

Steve takes the lead for 2nd in the Broads division with a shocking win over Ashlyn. Steve and Ashlyn split their head-to-head. Both still face Jordan, which should be losses for each of them. It looks like Linda will be the decider. Ashlyn beat Linda, but Steve lost to Linda. Based on Linda's league-worst points, her only path to 2nd is to beat both Steve and Ashlyn and have both lose to Jordan. She would finish 6-8 along with Steve, but she would have the 2-0 lead in head-to-head. Only in Broads can such a dismal performance in fantasy still be relevant in the final two weeks. Ashlyn needs Steve to lose to Jordan and Linda and she needs to beat Jordan or Linda. I think that covers the scenarios.

Jordan continues to dominate the Total Points race. I've gained some ground, but not fast enough to pose any threat.

Kermit the Kommissioner (James) vs Dr. Honeydew (Travis)

145.70 - 120.34

It felt good to get a win against the only team I have a losing record against. I am still in the losing category, but the loss by Travis hurt his slim chances of not getting relegated back to the Bros division. I might have challenged for a high score if Lamar had any weapons that could catch the damn ball. Somehow he still got 25 points, his best fantasy output in months. The only reason I've held onto him is for his Week 16 and 17 matchups. Schultz outperformed with 2 TDs, and White took advantage of his opportunity with Fournette out to catch nine passes. PPR Gold! Akers flopped for Travis, and both Dak TDs went to my TE, nullifying Dak's meager 18 pt output even more. The Chiefs did all they could to help, but it just wasn't enough for baldy.

Abby (Ashlyn) vs BoBo the Bear (Steve)

119.62 - 120.36

It's finished like this that can make a new fantasy football player quit the game. This was an absolutely brutal loss. Watson was doing nothing until Rodgers left the game, and then Love threw the bomb TD to him to crush Ashlyn's hopes and dreams. Herbert is heating up. Chubb is always reliable. Ashlyn still could have won the game if she had taken her brother's and my advice to swap out Carter for Montgomery. I also told her whatever she decided would probably be wrong because that is just how fantasy goes. She had to learn some of the hard lessons in fantasy football in her rookie season. The win for Steve keeps his hopes alive that he will finally make the Championship playoffs for the first time in his eight years in the League. It can't get any easier now, with 6 teams out of 12 making it.

Janice (Linda) vs Elmo (Jordan)

107.80 - 123.46

Jordan's team continues to lag behind his season average, but it was still good enough to beat the ever-struggling Linda, who earned yet another Poopsie Award for the week's lowest score. The win was on her bench. She was prescient in picking up Zay Jones but didn't have the will to start him over MVS. The 18.9-point difference in scoring was the difference between a win and a loss. For Jordan, it is better that his team gets through their slump now than in the playoffs. He still has the best team in the League by a mile. His QB and WR are so good they only needed to play a half before obliterating the Texans. In the NFL, it is extremely rare for a team only to have to play their starters for a single half of a game.

Fozzy the Bear (David) vs Oscar the Grouch (Tracy)

111.94 - 158.44

David quickly joins Travis in the battle to see who can have more injuries devastate their teams. This week both his RBs left before they could get anything going. Harris has a quad injury, and Etienne has a foot injury. He has to hope Fournette can return next week. ETN says he is OK, but we will see. Kyler finished his COD campaign and returned to being a good fantasy QB posting almost 30 points. David needs more of this if he hopes to cling to his 1st place position in the Bros division. A third of Tracy's points came from Josh Jacobs, who keeps rewarding Tracy for selecting him as his keeper. It wasn't like Tracy had many good options to pick from. 300+ total yards and 2 TDs are just stupid. One thing is for sure. Tracy will fight to the end.

Miss Piggy (Dana) vs Scooter (Gary)

139.38 - 122.10

Wow. Four straight wins for Mother Tucker. Too bad they don't count for much. She did help out her eldest son in beating Gary. Unfortunately, her 139.38 points didn't help her gain ground on those ahead of her. She is a long shot to avoid the Crapper, but we've all known that for over a month now. For Gary, Ekeler continues to be excellent. You're never benching Mahomes, even if Lawrence outperformed him this week. Kittle is an enigma on when he will have a good game or be irrelevant. He has to hope Chase's return for the Bengals helps open things up for Boyd. With David's team stumbling, Gary can take the Bros division title and ascend to the Beards division next season.

Animal (Paul) vs Gonzo the Great (Justin)

169.32 - 114.30

Paul loves to change his team name every week. I love it too. This week it was Imagine Animals Fantasy. High-score for the week has to be up there alongside scantily clothed ladies. Paul got off to a hot start with Josh Allen's 33.92 points. It was almost outdone by Sanders, who ran all over the Packers. Supposedly they chose to invest in their defense instead of wide receivers. That investment isn't returning much value. Metcalf was a target monster with 15, catching 11 for 90 yards. The only weak spots for Paul's lineup were Gibson and the Colts D. For Justin, he lost Rodgers, who hasn't done much anyways this year. Jeff Wilson underperformed in a juicy matchup versus Houston. He only got double-digit points because of the TD. Taylor did well with the touches he was given. Why the Colts insist on throwing so much with Ryan is strange. I think I have more arm strength at this point than Ryan does. Understandably, Justin questioned how Garrett Wilson would do with White. I think those questions have been answered with 2 TDs sitting on his bench. Can Justin hold on for 2nd in Beards? We will see.
