Week 12 Briefing

Do or die! It's divisional time. Three weeks left to earn a spot in the Champioship Playoffs or for a few team a chance to secure one of the Crapper Playoff byes to avoid the Crapper. Let's take a look at each division and the scenarios for each team.

Beards Division

Thanks to my monster game last week, the Beards Division is back on top with most points scored (5,536.1) and most wins (23). Everything is right in the League again. The only thing not right is Paul in 1st place in the Beards division with his meager 1,312.04 points. It's the lowest in the Division but somehow he has backed into seven wins. He beat Jordan and me in the first divisional round, but that doesn't mean anything since Jordan and I have over 100 point lead over him. For the noobs, our tie-breakers are head-to-head and then total points for. I like to keep things simple. This week, Paul and I face off. I used to own Paul, but he's gotten the better of me the past couple seasons. With half his team on bye, it is setting up to be a humiliating loss for me. It always happens when I think I have the superior starting lineup. After two tough losses by less than 4 points, I can't afford to lose any more games. Especially not against the divisional leader. If I lose, I am fighting for 2nd. If I win, I am in 1st place and looking good since I won the first matchups against Justin and Jordan. However, things are so tight between the three of us, it is up for grabs. As for Justin, he needs a miracle. He needs to win out to have a chance at a tie-breaker. Justin, Jordan, and myself are all close enough in points that it isn't just about winning. For Justin, it isn't just about winning, but also about outscouring Jordan and me down the stretch. I knew the bye-week apocalypse was coming in Weeks 12 and 14 so tried to ensure I didn't have too many studs on bye when I needed them the most.

Bros

With Gary eliminated from contention, it is down to a three-person race. David is in a commanding lead at 8-3. His only divisional loss was to Linda who sits in 2nd place. Steve is on the outside looking in. Like Justin, he needs a small miracle. He is close enough in points to David that if David loses out and Steve wins out, then he has a chance for the tie-breaker on points. Put since Gary is one of David's opponents, the chances of David losing out are slim to none. Linda is 160+ points ahead of Steve, so he has to finish with a better record than her. That means Linda has to lose out and Steve win out for Steve to have a chance at 2nd place. Again, Linda places Gary so the chances she loses out are slim to none. All of this to say that the Bros division teams that will head to the Championship Playoffs will be David and Linda. The only question is whether Linda or David can secure a bye. For the noobs, playoff seeding in the BBB League is by Total Points which means Linda is in good position for the bye while David needs a monster week like I had to get back into contention.

Broads

Ashlyn was eliminated from contention as soon as she drafted CMC. It's the curse of the #1 pick. Cody secured his ticket to the Championship Playoffs last week. He swept the division to begin the season and now has a 3 game lead over Nick and Travis. Travis is just lucky to be in a position to have a chance at the Belt. His 1,178.68 points are pathetic. Somehow he is tied with Nick with a 5-6 record. Nick won the first matchup and has a 156 point advantage. The reality is Travis needs to beat Nick next week or it's over. If he beats Nick, he needs to beat Ashlyn and hope Cody defeats Nick in Week 14. It could happen. The issue is Travis is forced to play Stroud this week and next week the byes are going to crush him with the Texans on bye. It's an uphill battle for Mr. Blaze.

Projected Winners:

Paul

Justin

Steve

Linda

Nick

Cody
