Week 12

My fellow Leaguemates, I am here to report the League is contentious. As predicted, the Beards division is coming down to the wire. Steve sowed the seeds of suspicion and discord by posting that my mistake, the inadvertent drop of Amon-Ra during waivers this week, was karma for my trade with Dana. Keeping the peace in the Beards division is one of my main goals. My primary goal is keeping Dana off the Crapper. To ensure there was no perception of unfair trading between Dana and me, I voided the trade in good faith. This magnanimous gesture by your Commissioner cost me the win. If I had Stroud like I would have if the trade went through, I would have won. Instead, I had to choose between Love and Dobbs, something I didn't want to do. Lineup decisions are not my strength. I chose poorly, and I lost. But there are no hard feelings. As Commissioner, I place the good of the League above all.

There were many trades proposed right before the deadline. I tried to trade for a QB upgrade with Gary, but he wanted too much for either Mahomes or Purdy. We couldn't agree on a fair swap. Jordan made some intriguing offers to Dana. Jordan first offered the classic volume trade for Keenan and Adams by offering four mediocre players for two good players. Dana declined. He returned with a final CMC/Ridley/GWilson offer for Bijan/Keenan/Adams. It was compelling, but she liked the consistency of Keenan and Adams over Ridley and Wilson. The trade analyzers also said it was lopsided towards Jordan. This week, the CMC side outperformed the other by 9 points so she may regret the decision. As Gary says, you have to go with your gut, but Gary can't tell the difference between intuition and flatulence.

After Dobb's debacle during the Monday Night Massacre, my Total Points lead has vanished. Currently, I am 1.98 points ahead. However, there are rumors there could be a stat correction for Dobbs to add a fumble loss to his stats. If this is true, then Jordan will be in the lead by .02 points. We will see what the official statisticians confirm.

With two weeks remaining, David has risen to 1st in the Beards Division and thus the League. This is a monumental achievement for him. He has risen to the top in one of the most competitive years in League history. David and Paul are currently in the top 2 spots in Beards, with Justin and myself just one game behind with two to go. It could come down to the Total Points tiebreaker, so every point counts.

In the Bros division, Gary took a tough loss. He falls outside the Championship playoffs in 3rd place losing to Tracy who has the tiebreaker over him. It will be tough for him to move back into 2nd place. Both Tracy and his team have to face Travis and Jordan. Those are predictable loss and win.

In the Broads division, Steve took a meaningless loss but otherwise had a good total of points. He sits in 3rd place for the Tropjhy within striking distance. The loss helped Dana stay alive another week from the Crapper playoff. All three Leagues ladies are tied at 4-8. Ashlyn has the head-to-head tiebreaker vs. Linda having beat her both times this year. Dana beat Ashlyn in Week 1 but lost to Linda in Week 2. Dana also has the most points between the three. She is in a must-win matchup vs. Linda in Week 13. If Dana can win and Ashlyn loses to Steve, Dana will be in an excellent position to finish 2nd. My mission will be accomplished.

Good luck to everyone in these crucial weeks ahead. I relish the challenge in front of me. My playoffs start now! Lose, and I'm done. Win, and I move on another week closer to the Belt. Win or lose, the League has made me proud this year. We've endured tragedy. Soon, one or two of us will triumph with the Belt and the Trophy.

Until next week, may the odds be ever in your favor.
