Week 10 Briefing

It's hard to believe it's been a year since Tracy passed away. While the League has continued, I miss his crazy waiver wire pickups and trade offers. He was always willing to take a chance. He was a big part of the success of the League in keeping it fun. I think maybe the Lord had mercy on him by taking him home so he didn't have to continue to watch his beloved Raiders continue to suck. Being a Raiders fan is penance enough, I think.

James vs. Travis

After a brutal loss last week to Cody, I need an easy matchup Surely, I can't lose to Travis' team, right? I don't know. My team likes to play down to it's competition. I'm not sure what concophony of catestrophic will strike my players this week, but watching Murray not see a wide open McBride for an easy TD and my kicker who hasn't missed all season miss two FGs was enough for me to throw my hands up in frustration. I'm not bitter. At 5-4, on the outside looking in now in 3rd place in the Broads Division, I need a matchup that my lineup yips cannot screw up. Hello, Travis! Travis doesn't have much time for fantasy these days with the newborn so I will cut him some slack for the abysmal season he has had. I kicked Kyler to the curb in hopes of removing the curse on my team. I want winners on my team. Kyler isn't a winner and his attitude was bringing the team down. I'm not seeing a way for Travis to get a win since I have the better player at most of the positions. I'm taking a risk starting Daniel Jones (for now) but the matchup is so good. I am a slave to good matchups.

Ashlyn vs. Justin

If AJ Brown is out this week, Ashlyn has a chance with her Hurts/Devonta stack since Justin has AJ Brown. Ashlyn has been bit with the same lineup mistakes as I have. It must run in the family. With three players on bye and Olave out for awhile, she doesn't have many options left to choose from. Regardless, Justin has King Henry, so he will always be the favorite against the bottom feeders in the League.

Linda vs. Jordan.

Linda still has Darnold in over Burrow. Will she ever learn? It's not like the Ravens are the shutdown defense they once were. That game should be high-scoring, too. Maybe she has an aversion to Thursday night games. Or perhaps she just hasn't had time to update her lineup since I still see a couple of players on bye. I hope everyone is monitoring the coming bye weeks. It is BRUTAL! Jordan, as usual, was masterful on the waiver wire, picking up Hopkins before the trade. If last week is what we can expect moving forward in KC, I don't know how he doesn't finally win the Belt. His lineup is stacked like Dolly Parton. Even with Bowers on bye, Jordan should have no problems getting past Linda to remain at the top of the Beards Division.

Gary vs. Paul

How sad is it for Paul that this matchup is close once Gary replaces his players on bye? Not really. Paul just needs to get a QB to start this week. Then it is easy sailing. Mooney is going to go to the moon if London is out. Kelce is back from the dead. He does this every year. He starts slow and then dominates! I wonder if that would have been the case if Rashee hadn't gotten injured. Doesn't matter. Kelce is back to primetime. Hubbard just got a nice payday, so the idea that Brooks will take over this backfield now that he has been activated will not happen. At best, Brooks will be 1b to Chubba's 1a. I need Paul to lose, but it isn't happening this week.

Steve vs. Cody

Just when Steve's roster starts falling into place, he finds his team almost beyond the hope of making the Championship playoffs at 3-6. I would not want to face him. With Moss out, maybe for his career, Chase Brown is the man in Cincy. Tyreek, Nacua, and Nabers are a very nice WR corps. They may have been underperforming recently, but you know they all can go off for 20+ any given week. I'm not sure how Baker keeps doing it with the receivers he has now, but he keeps cooking. I'm still miffed I missed out on him on waivers. He would have made a difference for me, as I am now in QB hell again. Cody may have won due to my awful luck lately with my players, but he won't be so lucky this week

David vs. Nick

David has quietly risen to the #1 ranking in the League. He's done it with key waiver wire acquisitions like Tyrone Tracy. We are all trying to cash lottery tickets with various RB backups in muddled backfields. This year, the tickets are cashing in for David. Another one of his waiver wire wonders, Tucker Kraft, is on bye. But no worries since he also grabbed Otton off the waiver wire this year. With CMC ready to rock finally, David may give Jordan a run for his money for the Belt. Not only does Paul need to find a starting QB this week, Nick also has to pick from the scraps that are left over. The ones left either have bad matchups, suck, or both.

Projected Winners:

James

Justin

Jordon

Paul

Steve

David
