James vs. Justin

Projected Winner: James

Actual Winner: James

The two best fantasy players in the League faced off in rivalry week, and it did not disappoint! Both finished with the top two highest scores of the week. Unfortunately, Justin's was the second highest. Moody's strong leg and accuracy made me nervous Monday night, but Breece got just enough dump-offs to keep me ahead for the four-point victory. It was the perfect start for your Commissioner, but I usually get off to fast starts only to fade down the stretch.

Justin had the points to beat me on his bench. JK Dobbins was a beast, rushing for 135 yards and a TD, but those points don't count. Instead, Justin started Marvin Harrison Jr. in his flex. It makes sense to offset my Kyler. Unfortunately, Kyler stunk it up and totally forgot about Marvin, who was wide open for a TD late in the game. My flex didn't do much better as the Sun God was eclipsed by Jameson Williams this week. With Nucua injured, Kupp returned to his feast days, getting a massive 21 targets.

It took some luck and injuries to help me clear Justin. He will have to wait to see how severe Njoku's injury is. Early reports are that it's week-to-week, so expect him to miss at least one game, if not more.

Steve vs. David

Projected Winner: Steve

Actual Winner: David

Analysts were worried about Josh Allen's effectiveness this season without key playmakers. Josh proved, once again, he is the PLAYMAKER! Josh Stallion galloped to 4 TDs! The 14-point differential at quarterback was instrumental in David pulling off the upset. It's ironic that David doesn't like kickers in fantasy, yet his kicker led him to a victory. Aubrey's 4 FGs and 2 XPs were good for 21 points, besting Bates by 13 points.

The matchup would have been closer if Nacua hadn't popped his knee. It looks like Steve will be without last year's waiver wonder for at least a couple of weeks. Steve will be loaded at the WR position if JaMo can finally emerge as a consistent deep threat for the Lions. The same cannot be said for his running backs. Javonte Williams looked B-A-D.

Nick vs. Cory

Projected Winner: Nick

Actual Winner: Cory

As much as I wanted PhatNick to win, it wasn't to be. Barkley looked phenomenal for Philly. He has the talent and is now the O-line to be THE #1 RB this season. I hate to see it cause he is on Cory's team! Lamar was running around like a madman. He can't survive all season doing that. Cory should take advantage of the League's IR spot to put Brooks in to grab another player. Our new emergency player policy was active in Week 1 with the late IA for Tee Higgins. However, his replacement didn't make it through the game as Addison hurt his other ankle.

For PhatNick, it's looking like another bust season for McLaurin. Worse, Love got knocked out late. Rodgers looked like the crypt keeper. He isn't the answer as a backup. The waiver wire should be active this week. It's looking like it's going to be a long rookie season for Nick in the BBB League.

Travis vs. Ashlyn

Projected Winner: Ashlyn

Actual Winner: Travis

Everything was lining up for a win and the high score for the week, but CMC was a late scratch. Lesson: Draft the handcuff if RB is older and has an injury already reported. It sucks for her that I drafted CMC's backup, who went off for 24.20 points on my bench. The difference between Mason and Mostert would have been enough for the win. It sucks to suck.

The Stroud/Mixon stack worked out well for Travis in Week 1. They combined for 50+, helping offset his abysmal TE production. We will see if it is now the Likely show in Baltimore. With three bench players on PIP or NFI, Travis has no depth on his roster. This will be Travis' high watermark for the season. Enjoy it, Travis. It's all downhill from here.

Jordan vs. Paul

Projected Winner: Paul

Actual Winner: Paul

Jordan had the choice of two rookie quarterbacks. He chose... poorly. Daniels had a lovely day with 28 points on his bench, while Caleb looked pedestrian at best with less than 100 passing yards. Worthy also went off on his bench, but you know once you start Worthy, he is going to put up a giant X. He is the definition of boom/bust, scoring 20 points on 3 touches. That isn't sustainable. Negative regression is inbound.

Richardson is already making me look stupid drafting Kyler over him, but I got burned last year with his injury. Richardson is an awful real-life quarterback but great for fantasy. Cam the Scam 2.0. Watching the new Chiefs offense, it is concerning that Rashee seems to be taking away Kelce's slants. That could hurt Kelce's upside this season. It's too soon to tell. It was a generally awful week for TE production.

Linda vs. Gary

Projected Winner: Linda

Actual Winner: Linda

Gary lived down to his reputation in the BBB League. He earned the first Poopsie Award with a total of 93.14 points. Linda didn't do much better, barely breaking 100 points. Usually, the Broads division scores the fewest total points each season, but with Linda and Gary now in the Bros division, it looks like that dubious honor will be going to the Bros division this season.

The Bungles knocked most of us out of the BBB Survivor pool. Burrow and the boys were a bust without Tee and Chase sitting out all training camp. They were rusty, and the putrid Patriots took advantage. Diggs had a good day for Gary, but he needed 2 TDs. Believe it or not, it could have been even worse for Gary. If Gary is brilliant (which he isn't), he will start Brian Robinson next week. He looked good in Week 1.

Both of these teams are dumpster fires. We will see which one gets relegated back to the Broads division.
