Hi Ho! Injuries are shaking things up. There seems to be more parity this year between the divisions. The Broads division actually has 3 of the top 6 scoring teams. I am still in the lead, barely. Jordan is less than 2 points behind me. Ashlyn is a distant 3rd, 34 points behind Jordan. Steve is #6 with 524 points but positions 3 through 6 are less than 8 points apart. Dana and Linda are fighting for the bottom. I would be dominating but I had a weak moment trading my son Breece and Diggs. It was very uncharacteristic of me. I'm getting soft in my old age. Onto the predictions.
Kermit the Kommissioner (James) vs Fozzie Bear (David)
I've had severe cognitive dissonance after my trade with David. I will pay a painful price for my lapse in judgment this week. Diggs is going to destroy me facing the Steelers secondary. Fournette has an easy matchup versus the Falcons. The topper is Damien Harris gets to face the Lions D who made Penny look like a Hall-of-Famer. FML. Just those four could score 100 points combined. The 49ers get to murder Mayfield this week.
My matchups just don't compare. Freiermuth faces the Bills who have two stud linebackers. I'm so desperate I am going to roll out Taysom Hill against the Seahawks. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I don't even feel good about the Dolphins vs the Jets. The Jets have weapons and even Zach Wilson doesn't look like he can screw things up this year.
Prediction: David demolishes his dad
Animal (Paul) vs Janice (Linda)
Paul gets the free square known as Linda for his matchup. Linda's team has some nice matchups so maybe she can score more than 100 points this week. Her best position, DST, faces the Texans. Jeudy gets the Colts whose DST has not been near the force as they were last season. Conklin faces the Dolphins who are giving up 17.4 PPG. Burrow could be forced to keep pace with Lamar on Sunday night. The Ravens D doesn't scare anyone.
Even with the favorable matchups, she is no match against Paul's squad. Josh Stallion versus the Steelers. Nice! Kelce is pumped on his podcast, New Heights, to face the Raiders. I expect him to score multiple TDs against them.
Prediction: Paul pummels Linda on way to Beards division lead
BoBo the Bear (Steve) vs Miss Piggy (Dana)
Not even Dana's devotion to her Steelers D can make her start them against the Bills offense. She went dumpster diving for a QB. She grabbed both the Saints QB who face the Seahawks. Anything should be better than what she got from Mariota last week. She needs Adams and Higgins to have massive games to make this matchup competitive.
Herbert looked good last week. He's adapted quickly to his rib injury. He is going to light up the Browns' defense. The Browns should try to control the pace of play by running Chubb a lot. Keenan Allen doesn't look like he is returning this week, but you can never predict when he will score 20 vs under 10 points.
Prediction: Dana suffers another loss to Steve
Elmo (Jordan) vs Dr. Honeydew (Travis)
Injuries have decimated Travis' team. No Dak. No Javonte. No Keenan. No Patterson. No Chance. This is what you call a Travis-ty. Bum-bum-bum.
Jordan is stacked at RB. JT has been ruled out, so he may want to go with Nyheim Hines on TNF over Kamara who is still TBD whether he plays this week. Tyreek said not to fret over not having Tua throwing him the ball. Bridgewater has a better arm than Tua witnessed by the long bomb last game.
Prediction: Travis takes the L
Gonzo the Great (Justin) vs Scooter (Gary)
This should be a good matchup. Both DSTs should hit this week. Giants D isn't going to be tough for Rodgers to figure out. Mahomes is on fire and has another primetime game to rip the Raiders a new one. I am still not a believer in JuJu. Justin's AJ and CeeDee are better than Thielen and JuJu. Gary counters with Ekeler and Robinson being better than Mixon and Wilson. With all things being pretty equal, I will go with the team that has the better QB.
Prediction: Gary gets past Justin for 4th win
Abby (Ashlyn) vs Oscar the Grouch (Tracy)
Ashlyn took a tough loss last week when her Bucs DST failed to show up against the Chiefs. She won't have to worry about that versus the Falcons. She has Evans to counter Brady. Tracy has Mandrews to counter Lamar. Chase and Hunt have been underperforming the past couple of weeks. They are too good to keep being held down. Jacobs had a monster game last week, but this week he faces a Chiefs D that has been good up front.
Prediction: Ashlyn asserts herself in the Broads division with a win
