Kommissioner's Korner - Week 2

Hi Ho! Back again for Week 2 of the Kommissioner's Korner. My predictions were only half right last week. I will try to do better. Injuries are already starting to impact some teams. Linda is on full tilt dropping her 1st round pick after 1 week to pick up a TE who saw 4 snaps in Week 1. Jordan must stay up late to be the first to pick over the Free Agents at 2 AM on Wednesday morning. That's dedication. Too bad that dedication didn't help him avoid The Crapper last year. It did help him snag Terry McLaurin. Nice. Not only do I jinx matchups, but I also jinxed my kicker. Poor Blankenship got the boot after I drafted him over Koo. Ouch on both ends. Let's get to the matchups for Week 2.

Kermit the Kommissioner (James) vs Gonzo the Great (Justin)

My team achieved peak performance last week. It's all down from here. It was nice to win over Paul, but now I face the 3x Champion. It's never easy in the Beards division. Justin was too smart not to handcuff Elijah Mitchell so now he gets to roll out Jeff Wilson in his flex in a nice matchup against the now feeble Seahawks defense. Rodgers owns the Bears, so I expect a nice bounce-back game from him just like last year. Justin's RBs have very good matchups to exploit. They both should get 20+ this week.

If I am going to compete this week, I need another monster performance from my Big 3 WRs. However, I can't expect Diggs to score 40 points every week. This week he comes back down to earth and so does my team.

Prediction: Kermit gets his butt kicked

Dr. Honeydew (Travis) vs Animal (Paul)

Paul took a tough loss last week in stride. This week, he faces Travis's team who also took a tough loss in Week 1. Paul has the advantage at QB with Josh Stallion. Paul also has the advantage at RB since Zeke ain't running nowhere with Rush at QB. Paul has a massive advantage at TE, too, with Kelce. The only thing Travis has going for him is Kupp. He will need Cooper's Kupp to runneth over if he hopes to upset Paul.

Prediction: Travis gets trounced by Paul

Oscar the Grouch (Tracy) vs Miss Piggy (Dana)

Tracy's team came out limping in Week 1, but this week his team rebounds against Dana. Dana is in dangerous territory with Najee. Can his foot hold up? Can he be effective behind the Steeler's bad O-line? She can't bench him, but she will regret starting him. To be safe, she grabbed the pedantic Warren just in case they decide to sit Najee which would be the smart thing to do which is why it won't happen. Dana needs Higgins to clear protocol so she can at least have three strong WRs in her lineup.

Tracy has his own challenges. Brady hasn't performed well against the Saints if my memory is correct. The new-look Vikings seem to be more aggressive passing now which could limit Dalvin Cook's upside even if he does remain healthy. MT was a surprise in Week 1, but we will see how well he holds up. The Houston offense is awful with Lovey the loser as head coach but Cooks is going to get his double-digit targets, but can he find the end zone? There's nothing special about Tracy's team, but with the injuries to Dana's team, she is at the disadvantage.

Prediction: Dana's team gets trashed by Tracy

Fozzie Bear (David) vs Scooter (Gary)

The TNF game could be a barn burner with a ton of points scored. This gives Gary the advantage with his Chief's super stack. As expected, Ekeler had a regressive start due to his reduced targets and not getting in the endzone. This should change in Week 2 with the Chargers needing to keep pace with the Chiefs. The over-under for the game is 54.5 points! That's good for fantasy.

It seems David's RB1 is having some rib issues. No matter, it would be hard to run against the Bucs D even if fully healthy. The Saints O has a lot more weapons now so the offense doesn't need to run through Kamara. Fournette looked good in Week 1. Too bad David picked the RB2 for the Packers this year. We'll find out soon if Dillon is now the main man or if it will change week to week. David is going to have to weather the storm and see if he can stay alive in the Bros division.

Prediction: David drops to 0-2

Elmo (Jordan) vs BoBo the Bear (Steve)

Two strong teams face off after scoring the 2nd and 4th most points in Week 1. I doubt Butker plays on TNF, so Steve will need to find a replacement which shouldn't be too difficult. Kickers are a dime a dozen. Steve's team is stacked this year. Hard to do better than Chubb, Swift, and Henderson at RB. He has a 4th running back playing wide receiver in Deebo. To top it off, he has Herbert slinging it to everyone. The only ding is that Mike Williams hasn't been the beneficiary but that should change with Keenan Allen out this week.

Jordan's team is no slouch, either. This matchup could come down to who gets high score for the week. The Vegas D is no threat to Murray. Barkley may finish as RB1 this year with his usage and talent now that he is fully healthy. Jordan made a nice FA move at 2 AM to grab McLaurin. You snooze you lose in this League with Jordan playing. This matchup is going to be fun to watch this week.

Prediction: BoBo beats Jordan to a high score

Abby (Ashlyn) vs Janice (Linda)

Ashlyn took a tough loss in Week 1, but gets a soft matchup against Linda. Linda may push for the worst season in BBB history. I thought it couldn't get any worse for her than last year, but here we are. Let's see if she can break Travis' season of suck when he only scored 1,315.56 points in the regular season. Even if Burrow goes bonkers, most of those passes are going to Ashlyn's Ja'Marr Chase. Linda is going to try to catch lightning in a bottle with Hilliard. I get it. He is the receiving back in a game the Titans should be trailing by a lot. I am not sure whether the play is bold or in desperation.

Ashlyn might want to consider benching Henry this week against the Bills D. She has Hunt and Carter so there is some depth at the moment. Allen was a bust. She probably should bench him until she sees if Stafford can stop fixating on his lover boy Kupp. Even if Ashlyn doesn't make the lineup changes, she will still whoop poor Linda.

Prediction: Ashlyn annihilates Linda
