Kommissioner's Korner - Week 17

Hi Ho! Without King Henry this week, I am in a hole. It's always amazing that we can spend all season planning and plotting to get to the Championship only to see your top players benched because it's a meaningless game or injury. Ugh! How will the final week play out? Who knows. I have a feeling this will be one of the lowest-scoring Championships the League has seen while the teams that have been eliminated blow up this week. Jordan may have been robbed of a chance for the Belt, but his team still finishes the year strong to take home the Total Points Championship. After 17 weeks, I'm exhausted. I'm ready for the off-season and thinking about what next year's draft theme is going to be. Guess it depends on who wins the Championship.

Championship

Abby (Ashlyn) vs Kermit the Kommissioner (James)

Ashlyn has had beginner's luck. She's also had a lot of coaching during the season. I may have done too good of a job coaching her. This week, it's all on her. She wanted no input from me. Maybe she thinks I would try to sabotage her like her brother, David. She wants to feel that if she beats me, it was based on her own waiver wire and lineup decisions this week. Her odds increased significantly after King Henry's status was changed to doubtful. He isn't playing. I picked up Hassan, but there is no replacing Henry. To pour salt in the wound, Hassan has to face the Cowboys DST, who won't have to respect Malik. FML. I may also be without my reliable RB2, Pollard. Talk about a double whammy.

I will need JJ to set the record for total yards in a season by going over 208 yards this week. I'll be glad next season when we only have to start 1 RB. Ashlyn was able to pick up Minshew. I would have tried to block her, but I was last in waiver priority. She learned from her mistake last week and is ensuring she has the QB for the Eagles, who have a great O line and stud WRs. She also locks in her stack with Devonta Smith. She does have an injury concern at RB, too. Aaron Jones has an ankle injury, so she must monitor his status. Olave would have been a good start, but with his hamstring injury, it is hard to trust or even know if he will play this week. Too soon to know. One thing she knows is to start the DST facing Houston. Houston has been better the best couple of weeks, but Ashlyn's hit the jackpot every time she's played the opposing defense.

Projection: The Kommissioner laments coaching his daughter to a Championship in her 1st year.

Crapper Bowl

Miss Piggy (Dana) vs BoBo the Bear (Steve)

I think I will be more relieved if Dana escapes the Crapper than if I win the Championship. It's not looking good. Steve has the Cowboys' DST, who got a massive boost with Henry not playing. Will Dallas even need to play any cornerbacks? Hubbard has been running strong, and Veta hasn't been practicing for the Bucs. If Veta is out, oh boy. Jamaal Williams is also dinged up, which means Swifty could finally get the bell cow work against the Bears, who can't stop anything! All the momentum has shifted to my brother. Fields list of injuries is a page long. Harris has a tough matchup against the Ravens. Steelers/ Ravens matchups are always low-scoring, brawler games. To make matters worse, Carr just got benched for the rest of the year. Davante Adams went to the Raiders to play with Carr. Now Dana gets to watch the backup try to find Adams against the best defense in the NFL, the 49ers. We saw last week what happened to Hopkins with the backup QB. Not great. The Bucs' offense is putrid. Godwin will get his catches for like 5 yards per catch. Dana's team has too many bad situations this week to overcome.

Projection: The League must find a new commissioner after James disappears.
