Kommissioner's Korner - Week 16

Hi Ho! Two more weeks to go. Will we get a Dumb and Dumber championship? An all-Tucker championship? Neither? The weather for the games this week is frightful, but the fantasy season this year has been delightful. Everyone has kept up with their rosters for the most part. Less drama. More competitive play. It's been a great year that now comes down to see which two teams move on for a chance at the Belt. There are no imposters this year. The final four were the top four points scorers this season. Late injuries have impacted the odds. Jordan taking the risk with Tua after his early season injuries is paying off.

On the other hand, I placed too much faith that Lamar would get better and Deshaun could shake off the rust fast enough. Neither happened, so I am dumpster diving like Tracy. Regardless of who wins this week, the final two teams will be worthy candidates for the Belt. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. Try not to let the fantasy results spoil your mood if you are on the losing end. Enjoy the time with your family. As we were reminded sadly this year, you never know how much time you have remaining with them. Don't take anything for granted. Be thankful. Be hopeful.

Championship Bracket

Abby (Ashlyn) vs Elmo (Jordan)

Ashlyn would have had a chance if Hurts didn't get hurt, but without Hurts, she is DOA. She struggled to figure out who to pick up. She ended up with Brady, who has a good matchup against Arizona. Weather is going to be a huge factor this week with the nasty polar vortex. Dmont should get plenty of touches. The wildcard is McKinnon. Can he keep up his torrid scoring? Probably not. It's another classic regression to the mean situation. No Hurts also limits the upside of DeVonta Smith. I'm not a believer in the Minshew Magic. Jordan has also had a WR impacted by a backup QB. While Minshew isn't great, McSorley is truly awful. Hopkins is a stud, but he doesn't have a QB to get him the ball downfield. It would be nice if McCoy could return, but it shouldn't make a difference whether Jordan wins this matchup. Tua returns to sunny Miami, where he and Tyreek will shred the Packers D. CMC is back to his monster bell cow role with Purdy at QB. CMC is going to win the Ship for Jordan. Saints may have to rely on Kamara with the brutally frigid weather predicted in Cleveland. I think Andrews has a big game against the Falcons. It's long overdue. You can't keep talented players down all season. Finally, Dalvin Cook is feasting just in time for the holidays. It was a great rookie season for Ashlyn.

Projection: The Rookie's hope of a Cinderella championship end. Really this time.

Scooter (Gary) vs Kermit the Kommissioner (James)

This matchup comes down to QBs. Gary has the #1 fantasy QB this year. I am scraping the bottom of the barrel. The only chance I have is if Henry goes for 200+ and 2 TDs against the Texans. This isn't the same Texans we saw earlier this season. They are playing better and with pride. The Titans' offense has been struggling lately. It's a bad trend that is going against me. Pollard has to face a stiff Eagles DST. The weather for JJ and Chase is frightful. White hasn't been able to win more touches from Fournette, so his upside is limited. Gary's Chiefs super stack faces the porous Seahawks defense. This was the year to be a homer. His four Chiefs starters will probably outscore my entire team.

Projection: Gary makes it to the finals for the Dumb and Dumber matchup for the Belt.

Crapper Bracket

Miss Piggy (Dana) vs BoBo the Bear (Steve)

The Crapper Bracket is on bye in Week 16, but returns in Week 17 for the Crapper Bowl.
