Kommissioner's Korner - Week 15

Hi Ho! After 14 weeks of toil and tribulation, we've made it to the postseason. I think my brother is ready to disown me at this point. It's hard to lose when you are as competitive as we are. It doesn't matter what the competition is over. Jordan, Tracy, Paul, and I get to rest this week and pray our players to stay healthy over our bye week while the rest of the League battles to stay alive or off the Crapper.

Championship Bracket

Abby (Ashlyn) vs Gonzo the Great (Justin)

In the Championship bracket, the Rookie faces off against the 3x League Champion. How's that for a dichotomy? She couldn't pick up the DST against Houston since I already have them, so she went with the Browns potentially facing Baltimore's 3rd string QB. Still not the best matchup, but the pickings were slim. If she hopes to beat Justin, she needs Christian Kirk to return to WR1 for the Jags. Zay Jones has been taking all the targets and points lately, which doesn't bode well for my daughter. Her TE, Dulcich, is sus, too, with the status of Wilson unclear after the concussion. He is most likely out, which makes Dulcich a wildcard. After the miraculous game from McKinnon last week to propel her to the Championship playoff, he returns to her bench with Aaron Jones and Montgomery back from the bye. The Chiefs may not need McKinnon to catch many passes against Houston. She is playing it safe, going with the volume Aaron Jones and Monty are sure to get. Justin used his high waiver priority to snag Engram, who exploded last week. If Engram can repeat, Ashlyn is dead in the water. One thing Engram hasn't been is consistent. AJ Brown will always have the edge over Ashlyn's Smith. Big Mike is back in a big way for the Chargers. Even if Rodgers is inferior to Hurts, the rest of Justin's roster has more upside than Ashlyn's. In the Championship playoff you need the upside.

Projection: The 3x Champ ends the Rookie's hope of a Cinderella championship.

Scooter (Gary) vs Fozzy the Bear (David)

Like Stinger said to Goose in Top Gun, David, "you're lucky to be here!" He can at least feel good for another week until Gary's Chief super stack vs. the Texans pummels him. Not even I have enough jinx powers to prevent Gary from beating my son. There's not a whole lot of analysis needed. Mahomes in a dome is easy money. Pacheco should get 20 carries to close the game out. It's looking like it is inevitable that Dumb and Dumber will face off in the Semifinals for a shot at the Belt. The narratives keep coming true.

Projection: Gary demolishes David

Crapper Bracket

Miss Piggy (Dana) vs Dr. Honeydew (Travis)

If I can't keep Dana off the Crapper, I have two weeks to live. She has a close matchup vs. Gary. Justin Fields is back from bye, which is a plus for her, but he faces a tough Eagles DST, which she is also starting. It's a weird combination that can somehow be good or bad. Any picks Fields throws are nullified by her DST, which is good, but if Fields goes off, then the Eagles' DST will take a hit. She is going all in on the Bears, picking up Kmet for the Fields/Kmet stack. She will need Fields to throw 2 TDs to Kmet this week. The big question for Travis is whether Stevenson will play after his ankle injury last week. If he does, how effective will he be? Travis can always throw in Akers if needed. Hollywood has a tough matchup against the Broncos, and Kyler is out the rest of the season with an ACL tear. This will be a close matchup, but Dana hasn't had much luck this season, so I am giving the edge to Travis.

Projection: Dana's despair grows as the Crapper comes closer.

BoBo the Bear (Steve) vs Janice (Linda)

In another close matchup, we have a rematch of Week 14. Steve hopes my cast-off, DPJ, can produce again after finding some connection with Voldemort Watson, but Steve probably won't even start him since his projection is less than Curtis Samuel. Steve is starting Swift, which means he will be a dud. Christian Watson has been on a TD tear, but he is due to regress to the mean. For Linda, Cooper is at home, which means he will boom. Zay Jones has been the WR1 in Jax 2 of the past three weeks. Will Linda trust Waddle with the busted fibula again? Or will she go with Aiyuk now that Deboo is out? Tough decisions. It looks like this matchup will come down to MNF again, where Steve will again tilt after Watson fails to get him enough points for the victory.

Projection: Loser Linda avoids the Crapper
