Kommissioner's Korner - Week 12

Hi Ho! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Our thoughts go out to Tracy. The first holidays after losing someone you love are so difficult. Once again, we get three NFL games on Turkey Day. Bills vs. Lions. Giants vs. Cowboys. Patriots vs. Vikings. The first two games should be a feast of fantasy points. The last game will probably be a turkey. Whether you are spending time with family you love or family you would rather avoid, I hope you take the time to be thankful for those who love you. As always, I am thankful for each of you who make the Beards, Bros, & Broads Fantasy Football League, the best league in the world.

Kermit the Commissioner (James) vs Dr. Honeydew (Travis)

Travis got the better of me in Week 3. It's time for some payback. The only problem is Dak is red hot facing the Giants. 3 TDs incoming from the Dak Attack. The Chiefs D gets to face a depleted Rams team. 20 points are incoming! Keenan looked fine, and with no Big Mike, he is going to get a load of targets and receptions. Keenan to the moon against the Cardinals' secondary. Pitty City is going to make me pay for letting him go. Belichick is known for taking away a team's #1 weapon. This week that is JJ on the Vikings. Oh, and it's a prime-time game for Cousins. FML. Henry will get his points, and Pollard should have another good game. The Bills should be scoring TDs and not settling for FGs against the Lions. I may pivot to White if Fournette is out. I may just roll with White anyway. I'm just not confident Aiyuk can keep it going. I got lucky with him last week. It feels like this game comes down to Lamar, who has only averaged 15 points per game. So much for him being a stud fantasy QB.

Prediction: Travis continues to own the Kommish.

Abby (Ashlyn) vs BoBo the Bear (Steve)

With everyone in the Broads division likely to get stomped by Jordan, the other two matchups are critical to determining who will emerge in 2nd. Ashlyn won the 1st head-to-head, and she has the points lead over Steve by 40. Steve needs to win and get some help along the way. Steve should get another good game out of the Cowboys' DST and Maher against the Giants. The Cowboys are blazing. The Bucs D isn't so fierce anymore against the run. They are going to have their hands full with Chubb. Ashlyn hasn't had luck on her side this year. Even though her matchups are better, something will happen to either nerf her players or to boost Steve's. She'll just have to learn that fantasy football is a cruel, cruel game.

Prediction: Steve keeps his playoff hopes alive.

Janice (Linda) vs Elmo (Jordan)

Ha ha ha ha ha. Jordan in a landslide. 'Nough said.

Prediction: Jordan marches on.

Fozzy the Bear (David) vs Oscar the Grouch (Tracy)

David got decimated at WR last week, but he recovered well on the waiver wire, grabbing Slayton for this week. He busted on Goff last week, but it is looking like Murray finished his COD campaign and will return to football this week. Whether David trusts his hammy or not is another thing. David's team is on the decline, while Tracy's team is on the incline. TB12 is past his divorce drama and ready to dominate the Browns. Barkley is due for a bounce-back game, but the Dallas D will make him wait another week. That's OK since Josh Jacobs is facing the Seattle DST. You can book 100 yards and a TD. Houston is going to be playing catchup all day against the Dolphins. Cooks should see ten targets if long neck can stay upright long enough to throw it to him. Big if. This game is going to be close, but the momentum is in Tracy's favor.

Prediction: Tracy triumphs to break his losing streak

Miss Piggy (Dana) vs Scooter (Gary)

Two teams with opposite destinations for the playoffs. Gary is almost a lock for the Championship, while Dana can only hope to stay off the Crapper. So it is shocking how close this matchup is. JuJu should be back, which gives Gary a big boost over Thielen. Mahomes is going to eat against the Rams DST. 4 TDs isn't out of the question. Ekeler will also find the endzone vs. the Cardinals. Pacheco and Boyd are wildcards. The game script is in Pacheco's favor for a lot of 4th quarter carries, but the Lorax doesn't like to run the ball. With Fields banged up, Ashlyn will have to monitor the situation to see if she wants to swap in Jimmy G instead. Tough call. Adams is going to post another 30 points. Jordan tried to get Adams from Dana. No deal. All Dana can hope for is to score a lot of points cause a win isn't on the menu.

Prediction: Gary gallops toward the playoffs.

Animal (Paul) vs Gonzo the Great (Justin)

Paul needs to go back to the psychiatrist to deal with his depression over losing five in a row. This week he finally gets back on the winning side to keep his hopes alive. Kelce is in a groove with Mahomes. Nothing is going to stop him from getting to the endzone. Metcalf will have a big game versus the Raiders' sucky defense. DJ Moore is a wildcard with Darnell at QB, but anything has to be better than most of this season. You can't keep a talent like Josh Allen down two games in a row. Rodgers has no consistent weapons. I would be shocked if Mixon played with the new concussion protocols, but the projections are showing that the pundits think he will. I don't which will be a huge hole in Justin's lineup he won't be able to overcome against the Animal.

Prediction: Paul pounces on his opportunity to remain relevant in the Beards division.
